Singapore-based Filipino artist Thea Madrideo, performing under the moniker bloo!, has officially released her debut EP, in moments of stillness, across all major streaming platforms worldwide.
Written entirely by Madrideo over two years, the five-track collection offers an unfiltered chronicle of recovery, documenting the quiet aftermath of life-altering change and the slow, uneven journey back to self-discovery.
Nostalgic Pop-Rock Meets Unfiltered Lyricism
Fusing singer-songwriter intimacy with infectious pop-rock energy, bloo!’s sound captures the emotional honesty of early 2000s lyricism, taking inspiration from icons like Kitchie Nadal, Alanis Morissette, and Michelle Branch. Seamlessly weaving between English and Filipino, her lyrics mirror the natural texture of her thoughts and emotions.
“They’re not perfect. Some of them are messy and petty and unresolved, in the way that real feelings tend to be. But they’re honest. And I think that’s the thing that matters most when you’re making music for the moments that are hard to name,” shares Madrideo.
Named after the personal safe space where Madrideo penned her earliest tracks, bloo! was produced in collaboration with a close-knit group of Manila-based musicians and producers.
