As part of the initiative, Acer Academy donated five Acer TravelMate laptops to DLS-CSB. These devices will enable SDEAS students to access online learning platforms, complete digital coursework, participate in blended learning activities, and strengthen their digital literacy—enhancing both academic performance and future employability.
“Education is one of our priority segments. We always believe in the transformative power of education,” said Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines. “Through Acer Academy, which already has over 400 members nationwide, we are not just providing devices—we are building lasting partnerships with institutions like Benilde and supporting students with disabilities through immersion programs and other initiatives.”

For Marian Patricia BEA Francisco, Dean of SDEAS, the collaboration opens new pathways for both students and the wider Benildean community. “This partnership will strengthen digital capacity, promote skill development, and support inclusion,” she said.
Angelo Marco Lacson, Vice-Chancellor for Academics at DLS-CSB, highlighted the broader impact of partnerships like this: “Many assume Benilde only serves students with resources—but that’s not the case. We have students who are striving to make ends meet, including persons with disabilities. We actively seek partners, benefactors, and donors like Acer to help provide opportunities and expand access to education.”
Acer Academy in the Philippines is designed to help schools, colleges, and universities integrate technology into learning. Through hardware, software, training, and support, the program enables the creation of digital classrooms, fosters innovation, and enhances digital literacy across the education sector.
