Horror is alive—and it’s getting a chilling new platform. ABS-CBN, in collaboration with CreaZion Studios, has officially opened submissions for True Manila Encounters, an upcoming six-episode iWant horror anthology that aims to bring real-life nightmares to the screen.

As Filipino audiences continue to embrace horror in the digital age, spine-tingling stories—from eerie encounters to urban legends—are finding massive traction online. What once lived in late-night conversations and whispered folklore has now evolved into viral threads and gripping narratives on platforms like Wattpad, where readers devour tales rooted in local myths and unexplained phenomena.
Now, True Manila Encounters is tapping into that fascination, calling on writers, creatives, and horror enthusiasts from across the Philippines to submit original stories inspired by true experiences. Entries may explore ghost sightings, urban legends, and chilling encounters with supernatural beings deeply embedded in Filipino culture—such as the Aswang, Kapre, and Diwata—as well as real-life paranormal events that defy explanation.
Filipino horror storytelling has long been shaped by rich cultural traditions and deeply personal experiences passed down through generations. This new initiative provides a rare opportunity for fresh voices to emerge and for authentic local stories to be transformed into compelling screen adaptations.
According to Real Florido, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to championing Filipino storytellers and amplifying narratives that resonate with audiences. By combining creative discovery with digital reach, the project aims to elevate homegrown horror to a wider stage.
All submissions will undergo a review process, with shortlisted entries advancing to public voting on the ABS-CBN website. Final selections will be determined through a combination of audience engagement and internal evaluation—ensuring that the most gripping and resonant stories make it to the anthology.
Through True Manila Encounters, ABS-CBN and CreaZion Studios are not just curating horror—they are building a platform where Filipino fears, folklore, and firsthand encounters come to life in their most haunting form.
Aspiring contributors can submit their entries via the official portal and stay tuned for updates through ABS-CBN and CreaZion Studios’ social media channels.
