NEW SINGLE “anxiety” OUT NOW!

eaJ has officially released his new six-track alt-pop EP, the responsibility of being in love, under Position Music. The project dives deep into the dual nature of romance, highlighting how love can both elevate us and trigger our deepest insecurities. Ultimately, the EP serves as a musical exploration of how relationships shift our self-perception and force us to confront our hidden vulnerabilities.

The EP’s standout track, “anxiety” (produced by Inverness), continues the theme of self-exploration found in eaJ’s earlier comeback tracks, “feel myself” and “blinded.” The song captures the chaotic, overwhelming thoughts of a panic attack by blending high-energy alt-pop with hyperpop elements. Driven by a real-life incident—eaJ’s first panic attack during a 2019 flight to Lisbon—“anxiety” converts a private struggle into a raw, deeply relatable anthem. Regarding the track, eaJ shares, “Anyone who’s had one will understand the lyrics.”

Throughout the project, eaJ dives into the internal conflict between desiring affection and feeling worthy of receiving it. His earlier releases, “blinded,” “feel myself,” and “put it on me,” map out how deep connections can break toxic patterns, foster self-rediscovery, and motivate personal accountability in relationships.

The EP shifts sonic landscapes to mirror these emotional complexities. The understated, stripped-back production of “blinded” and “get the hell away from me” highlights the inherent vulnerabilities of romance, whereas “easy” offers a more optimistic outlook on the endurance required to sustain a partnership. Collectively, the six-track collection encapsulates the chaotic duality of intimacy—the reflex to isolate, the craving for genuine connection, and the conscious decision to stay. In the end, the responsibility of being in love frames romance not as a magical fix, but as a catalyst for personal growth.
