#GCashTipidTips: Pay Half-Price for Your MRT-3 Ride

In a move to ease the impact of rising consumer prices, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has rolled out a discounted fare matrix for commuters using single-journey tickets, stored-value cards, and cashless payment options, effective March 23.

Passengers riding the MRT Line 3 can now conveniently access these fare discounts through GCash, offering a faster and more seamless commuting experience. With features such as GCash Commute QR, NFC-enabled Android payments, and the GCash Visa card, commuters can skip long ticketing lines and head straight to the platform—saving both time and effort.

GCash’s cashless payment system has been operational in MRT-3 since July last year, steadily transforming the daily commute by providing more accessible and efficient payment alternatives.

At its core, the initiative aims to make everyday transportation more affordable while promoting a more modern, contactless commuting experience for Filipinos.
