As summer travel hits full stride, AirAsia Philippines is reminding passengers to pack smart and plan ahead—especially as more Filipinos travel in groups, bring home pasalubong, and carry extra gadgets on their trips.

With peak season in full swing, a few simple preparations can make all the difference between a smooth journey and last-minute stress.

Pack Ahead, Save More

To avoid higher airport fees, travelers are encouraged to pre-book baggage and add-ons at least two hours before departure via the AirAsia MOVE or the airline’s official website.

AirAsia Philippines offers flexible baggage options ranging from 20kg up to 60kg, with no limit on the number of checked bags—as long as the total weight stays within the purchased allowance. For safety, each bag must not exceed 32kg.

For carry-on, passengers are allowed two cabin items within the standard 7kg limit—typically one cabin bag and one personal item. Those who need extra space can upgrade to Xtra Carry-On, which allows up to 14kg when pre-booked at lower rates.

Travelers bringing fragile items like glassware or electronics should ensure these are securely packed, as such items are transported at the owner’s risk.

Stay Close, Travel Together

Group travel is a big part of the Filipino travel experience—and AirAsia makes it easier with its “Seat Together” feature. This option allows passengers to select adjacent seats in one booking, with savings of up to 50% compared to booking seats individually.

The process is simple:

  • Book your flight
  • Go to Add-ons and select Pick-a-Seat
  • Toggle Seat Together
  • Confirm and proceed to payment

It’s a small step that ensures families and barkadas stay connected throughout the journey.

Expanding Travel Options

AirAsia Philippines currently serves 26 destinations—14 domestic and 12 international routes from Manila and Cebu. Strengthening its regional network, the airline recently launched new routes to Hanoi and Da Nang from Manila, with upcoming Cebu flights to Bangkok and Hanoi set to take off in June 2026.

Travel Smart This Summer

With more destinations to explore and more passengers taking to the skies, planning ahead—from baggage to seating—can help travelers enjoy a more seamless and stress-free journey.

Because when everything is sorted before takeoff, the trip becomes exactly what it should be: easy, enjoyable, and focused on the experience.
