iWant brings a bold new wave of homegrown humor with the premiere of “Benta Nights,” a high-energy stand-up comedy series that captures the electrifying atmosphere of live shows, now streaming exclusively every Wednesday on iWant.
Launching on November 19, the series stars Red Ollero as the first Filipino to headline a Tagalog stand-up special on an international streaming platform. Known for his quick wit and fearless takes on politics, religion, and personal quirks, Red sets the tone for a lineup that celebrates the diversity and creativity of today’s local comedy scene.
“Benta Nights” features 12 of the country’s most in-demand comedians across six episodes, highlighting fresh voices and unique perspectives. Joining Red are:
- Alexio Tabafunda – charming audiences with honest, relatable observations both on stage and as a writer.
- Andren Bernardo – bringing dark, quirky humor rooted in his Pangasinan upbringing.
- Arghie Malgapo – sharing gritty, humorous stories from his life in Tondo.
- Baus Rufo – one of the few LGBTQ+ comics delivering sharp, high-energy punchlines.
- Chanchan Consing – an engineer and full-time dad offering comedic takes on family life.
- Issa Villaverde – the series’ sole female comic, giving a fresh perspective on identity, bisexuality, and pet culture.
- Judd Gregorio – representing southern “conyo” stereotypes with clever self-awareness.
- Mark Liamado – a Cavite-born comic whose rural upbringing shapes his unique comedic voice.
- Rae Mammuad – hiding witty insights on love languages and everyday oddities behind an ordinary persona.
- Roger Naldo – turning his experience with a cleft palate into uplifting, sharp humor.
- Victor Anastacio – known for his “Intellectwalwal” style blending smart setups with unfiltered punchlines.
Directed by Ryan Puno, founder of SOLID OK, the series delivers weekly doses of laughter and midweek magic.
