AirAsia A320 Fleet Undergoes Preventive Maintenance as per EASA Directive

AirAsia Aviation Group (AirAsia) announced today, 29 November 2025, that it will begin implementing software rollback measures on its Airbus A320 Family aircraft, following an urgent Airworthiness Directive (AD) issued by aviation certification authorities. The directive does not affect AirAsia’s A330 fleet.

In line with the mandate, AirAsia is prioritizing the swift completion of the rollback and will adjust flight operations as necessary. Reports from Airbus indicate that approximately 6,000 aircraft worldwide may be affected.

Guests on impacted flights will be notified directly and offered service recovery options. Travelers are also encouraged to stay informed via the AirAsia MOVE app (airasia.com/flightstatus), the AskBo chatbot, and their registered email.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, stated:

“We are taking immediate action to comply with the Airworthiness Directive and aim to complete the process within the next 48 hours while ensuring minimal disruption to our guests. These measures are essential to maintaining the highest standards of operational safety. We also want to extend our gratitude to our engineering teams, who have started the process immediately and are working tirelessly to complete the required actions.”

AirAsia remains committed to prioritizing passenger safety while keeping travelers informed throughout the process.
