“Cebu is a cornerstone in our next phase of growth in the Philippines. By linking Visayas and Mindanao to international gateways like Macao and Kuala Lumpur, we’re building bridges between local communities and the wider region,” said Amanda Woo, AirAsia Aviation Group Chief Commercial Officer.

Beyond affordable fares, AirAsia emphasized its focus on safety, reliability, and purposeful travel—recruiting pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff based in Cebu to support this major hub comeback.

“This expansion is about more than connectivity—it’s about encouraging tourism, creating jobs, and supporting communities that rely on travel and trade,” added Capt. Suresh Bangah, AirAsia Philippines President & CEO.

Meanwhile, Athanasios Titonis, CEO of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, lauded the move:

“We are delighted to support AirAsia Philippines in launching new direct flights from Cebu, further promoting Cebu as both a destination and a vital tourism hub.”

To celebrate, AirAsia is hosting a Music Festival on 15 November 2025, featuring top OPM artists—bringing music, culture, and travel together in a grand comeback celebration for the Cebu hub.
