In a united front against one of the world’s most persistent health threats, the Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH), in partnership with Omron Healthcare and various health advocates, has launched May Measure Month 2025—a nationwide campaign designed to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and promote proactive management of hypertension.

Running until July 31, 2025, the campaign calls on Filipinos across the country to prioritize regular blood pressure monitoring, emphasizing its critical role in preventing serious health complications. Hypertension, often called the “silent killer,” remains a leading cause of preventable deaths globally—frequently going unnoticed until it results in heart disease, stroke, or kidney damage.
With support from the Department of Health (DOH), medical institutions, and community-based organizations, May Measure Month 2025 will provide free blood pressure screenings nationwide, using clinically validated digital monitors from Omron Healthcare. These screenings aim to detect undiagnosed cases of hypertension, connect individuals with appropriate care, and spread awareness about the importance of routine blood pressure checks.
“This campaign is a crucial reminder that early detection is our strongest defense,” said Dr. Alejandro Bimbo F. Diaz of the Philippine Society of Hypertension. “Hypertension is a silent but serious threat. Through our partnership with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and Omron Healthcare, we hope to empower more people to monitor their blood pressure before it’s too late. Every check is a step toward a healthier, longer life.”
The campaign also promotes healthier lifestyle habits that help lower the risk of hypertension-related complications. Beyond public education and screenings, the data collected during May Measure Month will help monitor hypertension trends, inform healthcare strategies, and support research aimed at improving cardiovascular health outcomes.
A recent event marking the start of May Measure Month 2025 gathered healthcare professionals, volunteers, and media representatives in an effort to spread the word about the campaign’s goals. The launch featured free blood pressure checks, expert-led discussions, and interactive health booths focused on cardiovascular wellness—all reinforcing the campaign’s core message: take control of your health, one check at a time.
Benjamin Agbulos, General Manager of OMRON Healthcare Philippines, shared the company’s commitment to the cause: “Omron Healthcare is honored to support May Measure Month 2025 and work alongside the Philippine Society of Hypertension. Guided by our ‘Going for Zero’ vision—zero heart attacks and strokes—we strive to offer innovative, clinically trusted solutions that help individuals take charge of their heart health.”

With nationwide engagement and grassroots initiatives, May Measure Month 2025 encourages everyone to take part in the #BigSqueeze and get their blood pressure checked. It’s a small step that could make a life-saving difference.
