Report provides a comprehensive overview of Fortinet’s sustainability progress and initiatives in the past year

Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in cybersecurity and the convergence of networking and security, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, detailing its core initiatives, commitments, and progress on the sustainability issues that matter most to its business and stakeholders.

Fortinet Philippines Echoes Global Sustainability Vision
Bambi Escalante, Country Manager of Fortinet Philippines, emphasized that local efforts are aligned with Fortinet’s global sustainability strategy.

Highlights from the 2024 Sustainability Report
1. Leading Through Innovation and Responsible Technology
Fortinet now holds nearly 1,400 issued patents and over 450 pending. The company continues to lead in AI-powered security solutions and has joined key initiatives such as:
- UC Berkeley’s AI research,
- The World Economic Forum’s cybersecurity programs,
- CISA’s Secure by Design pledge, reinforcing secure development practices from the ground up.
2. Strengthening Global Cybercrime Defense
In 2024, Fortinet supported major anti-cybercrime efforts, including:
- INTERPOL’s Operation Serengeti,
- The World Economic Forum Cybercrime Atlas Project.
These efforts led to 1,000+ arrests, 134,000+ malicious networks dismantled, and $44M recovered.
3. Advancing Climate Action
Fortinet’s near-term emissions targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). These include:
- Reductions aligned with the 1.5°C global warming limit (Scopes 1 & 2),
- Scope 3 goals involving suppliers and customers.
4. Greener Products and Packaging
- New FortiGate models are 61% more energy-efficient than previous ones.
- Introduced 22 FSC-certified packaging designs,
- Reduced plastic across 86 top-selling products, avoiding 387 metric tons of CO₂e, including 77 tons of plastic.
5. Closing the Cybersecurity Skills Gap
Since 2022, Fortinet has trained 630,000+ individuals through the Fortinet Training Institute.
- In 2024, Fortinet joined the EU’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy, pledging to train 75,000 people by 2027.
- Contributed to the World Economic Forum’s Strategic Cybersecurity Talent Framework.
6. Ethical Business Practices and Security Standards
- 100% of top contract manufacturers and distributors completed ethics training.
- Expanded ISO 27001/17/18 and SOC2 Type II certifications, achieving 81 information security accreditations.
