The series highlights the label’s commitment to creative freedom, collaboration, and nurturing groundbreaking talent

Offshore Music is celebrating a decade of shaping the Filipino indie and underground music scene with the launch of a compelling five-part documentary series that chronicles its evolution, ethos, and enduring impact.

Set to premiere on YouTube from May to September 2026, the Offshore Music PH 10th Anniversary Docuseries offers an intimate look into the label’s journey—from its humble beginnings to its emergence as a defining force in independent music. The series weaves together rare archival footage, candid interviews, artist testimonials, and behind-the-scenes moments that spotlight not just the label, but the vibrant community it has cultivated over the years.

Since its founding, Offshore Music has stood firmly by its artist-first philosophy, prioritizing creative authenticity over commercial metrics. This commitment is at the heart of the docuseries, which highlights how the label continues to push boundaries across music production, vinyl culture, branding, and artist development.

“Managing to last this long and being able to do what we want while staying true to our principles definitely makes it sweeter,” shares founder and CEO Ely Buendia.

For A&R Director Pat Sarabia, the label’s approach has always been rooted in discovery and artistic integrity. “We champion artists who bring something fresh and meaningful to the local music scene. We don’t rely on follower counts or streaming numbers. Instead, we listen closely, understand where the artist fits in the landscape, and build from there. We help them refine their craft, connect with the right people, and support even their boldest ideas.”

The series opens with Episode 1: One Vision, One Product, a reflective roundtable discussion among Offshore Music’s board members. It revisits the label’s early days and its bold decision to champion vinyl records at a time when digital streaming dominated—a move that would later define its identity and commitment to artistry.

General Manager Audry Dionisio underscores this guiding principle: “We’ve always put creativity and music first. Over the years, we’ve shown that fair contracts and genuine collaboration between label and artist are not just possible—they’re sustainable.”

Subsequent episodes delve deeper into the label’s journey. Episode 2: Championing Artist Growth explores the development of its pioneering roster and the trust-building process that underpins its success, while Episode 3: Board Member Reflections offers an unfiltered look at the strategic decisions, financial risks, and emotional investments required to sustain an independent label. These episodes are slated for release in June and July.

The final chapters of the series shift the spotlight to the artists themselves. Episode 4: Artist Stories captures personal narratives from Offshore Music’s roster, while Episode 5: The Epilogue looks ahead to the label’s future, with both episodes scheduled to drop in August and September.

Throughout the docuseries, Offshore Music also challenges long-standing misconceptions about record labels, emphasizing the importance of empathy, fairness, and collaboration in artist management.

“The reality is, it’s not a glamorous job,” Sarabia admits. “It requires a solid system, constant communication, and strong interpersonal relationships to make everything work.”

Beyond the challenges, the documentary celebrates key milestones that have defined the label’s legacy—from pioneering vinyl releases, including the first pressing of Ultraelectromagneticpop!, to building an internationally recognized roster through acclaimed recordings and strategic global partnerships—all while staying true to its core values.

After ten years of championing Filipino creativity, Offshore Music remains driven by the same passion that sparked its beginnings.

“We’re simply fans of music,” Buendia affirms. “And we’ll continue to contribute to the growth and betterment of OPM.”

Dionisio echoes this forward-looking optimism. “Audiences can expect more exciting releases, authentic content, and a growing community of like-minded creatives.”

With its first episode set to drop this month, the Offshore Music PH 10th Anniversary Docuseries invites audiences to witness a decade of music, passion, and purpose—and the continuing story of a label that refuses to compromise its vision.
