ABS-CBN Receives Sixth Consecutive Media Company of the Year Award at Golden Laurel 2023

ABS-CBN, the leading content provider in the Philippines, achieved an impressive feat at the Golden Laurel: The Batangas Province Media Awards 2023, held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas. The network bagged a total of eleven awards, with a remarkable sixth consecutive win as the Media Company of the Year.

Renowned host and actress, Charo Santos-Concio, received the prestigious Sotero H. Laurel Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her significant contributions to the Philippine entertainment industry. The long-running and acclaimed drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” was honored with the Meritissimus Award for Drama Anthology.

Charo Santos-Concio expressed her gratitude, acknowledging the honor and privilege of serving the Filipino audience throughout her illustrious career, from her early days as an actress to her role as the host of “MMK” and later as ABS-CBN’s president and CEO. She credited the continuous support from the audience as the driving force behind her dedication to the craft.

ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” was recognized as the Best Variety Show, while the advocacy-driven legal drama anthology, “Ipaglaban Mo!,” won the Best Documentary Show award. Other notable winners included Joshua Garcia for Best Drama Actor, Esnyr Ranollo as Most Outstanding Content Creator, and Princess Kathryn “Kulot” Caponpon as Breakthrough Batangueño Social Media Child Personality.

Moreover, ABS-CBN News’ flagship program, “TV Patrol,” earned the Best News Program award, with anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo winning the Female News Anchor of the Year award. The company’s news website, news.abs-cbn.com, was recognized as the Online News Website of the Year.
