Pia Wurtzbach Unveils Her Novel ‘Queen of the Universe’

Actress, beauty queen, and advocate Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey has officially launched her book, titled “Queen of the Universe” at the Manila International Book Fair held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The novel draws inspiration from the real-life experiences of Miss Universe 2015, portraying her journey as a beauty queen and more, set against the glamorous backdrop of Manila’s urban life. The story revolves around a fictional character named Cleo, who navigates unexpected twists and turns, facing challenges to her identity and integrity within the captivating world of beauty pageants.

Pia shared, “Cleo is loosely based on my life story, but as you go through the chapters, you will see that she embarks on her own unique journey. It’s not entirely me. We have different paths to explore. I’ll leave it up to you to discover when you read the book.”

“Queen of the Universe” is among the select few books by a Filipino author to have an international launch. In addition to the Philippines, the book is already available in Singapore and will soon be accessible in the United States, Australia, Canada, the UAE, and the UK later this year. The e-book version will be globally available starting November 7.

The book is published by Tuttle Publishing, one of the oldest American publishers in operation and the world’s largest publisher of books related to Asia.

For this project, Pia is represented by her literary agent, ABS-CBN Books, renowned for publishing titles from bestselling authors like Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Charo Santos-Concio, Vice Ganda, Alex Gonzaga, and Binibining Mia. “Queen of the Universe” marks ABS-CBN Books’ first international deal.

Readers can acquire a copy of “Queen of the Universe” at National Bookstore and Fully Booked branches in the Philippines, as well as at Kinokuniya and Times Bookstores in Singapore. US-based readers can already pre-order a copy on amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com.
