MYX Spotlights Filipino American Independent Artists in New Docu-Series “WRIZZARDS: Underground Uprising”
MYX turns the spotlight on the journey of four Filipino American independent music artists in the upcoming weekly documentary series “WRIZZARDS: Underground Uprising,” premiering April 18 (Saturday) at 7 PM.
The series follows the Washington Rizzards, or WRIZZARDS for short—a collective of multi-genre artists including J Matty, Bema Tadey, LEIF, and Tina Carzon, all based in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. Together, they are navigating the underground music scene while steadily carving their names on the global stage.
Spanning 13 episodes filmed over two years, the docu-series captures the highs and lows of independent artistry: from basement rehearsals to headlining local venues, and the personal and creative pressures that test their grit and resilience. Audiences get a front-row seat to the challenges, triumphs, and raw reality of building a music career outside the mainstream spotlight.
