March 27, 2024, UNIS debut with their first mini-album, “We Unis” that unveils MV for title track ‘SUPERWOMAN‘. The group comprises eight finalists from the SBS audition program “Universe Ticket,” hailing from Korea, the Philippines, and Japan.
Led by the four Korean members, Hyeonju, Yunha, Yoona, and Seowon, Unis also includes two talented members from the Philippines, Elisia and Gehlee Dangka, along with two Japanese members, Nana and Kotoko. Their debut is the culmination of a journey that began with dreams of stardom and was fueled by the support of millions of viewers worldwide who voted for them during “Universe Ticket.”
Unis aims to wow global audiences with their diverse talents and energetic performances. Their debut title track, “Superwoman,” an electrifying Afrobeat dance anthem celebrating self-confidence and empowerment.
At a press conference in Seoul, Hyeonju, the group’s leader, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to debut, emphasizing their commitment to delivering exceptional performances. Unis, already embraced by a massive global fandom, aims to reciprocate the love and support they’ve received through their music.
Yunha, another member of the group, shared the meaning behind their name, “Unis,” an abbreviation for “You and I Story.” With this debut album, Unis promises to share their unique stories and experiences through their music, inviting fans to join them on their journey.
In addition to “Superwoman,” the album features four B-side tracks, including “Butterfly’s Dream,” “Whatchu Need,” “Dopamine,” and “Dream of Girls.” Notably, “Dopamine” and “Dream of Girls” were previously performed by the members on “Universe Ticket,” demonstrating their growth and musical prowess.
Three of the group’s members have Filipino roots, adding a Pinoy heart to their dynamic lineup.
Elisia, a talented actress and trainee under F&F Entertainment, secured her position as the inaugural member of UNIS, impressively ranking first overall during the show’s ninth episode.
Gehlee Dangca, affectionately known as “Princess” by her fellow trainees, is a Filipino beauty pageant contender who earned her spot as the fourth member of UNIS with over two million votes during the show’s finale.
Jin Hyeonju, also known as Belle, brings her Filipino-South Korean heritage and valuable leadership skills to UNIS. As a member of Cignature and a former member of GOOD DAY, she earned her place as the final official member of UNIS during the show’s finale.
