Toyota Partners with New Vehicle Recycling Facility in Cavite

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) has officially endorsed Standard Insurance Co., Inc. as the second model End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) dismantling facility in the country under the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project—a major step forward in promoting sustainable vehicle lifecycle management in the Philippines.

Strategically located in Naic, Cavite, within Standard Insurance’s technical and training center, the newly recognized facility spans 8,840 square meters and has the capacity to dismantle up to six vehicles per day. It primarily handles ELVs insured under Standard’s portfolio, dismantling an average of 850 vehicles annually.

With an investment of PHP17.8 million, this initiative marks a significant milestone in private sector participation toward building a circular economy in the local automotive industry.

Driving Toward a Greener Future

ELV dismantling facilities are essential to reducing the environmental impact of inoperable vehicles. These facilities ensure the safe removal of hazardous materials, enable resource recovery, and support the reintegration of valuable components into the manufacturing cycle.

Standard Insurance’s facility strengthens TMP’s commitment to sustainable practices and reinforces the broader environmental goals of the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project, which aims to create a network of responsible ELV processing centers worldwide.

With two Toyota-endorsed ELV dismantlers now operational in the country, the Philippines is increasing its capacity to manage end-of-life vehicles responsibly—contributing to both local sustainability efforts and the global push to mitigate climate-related risks.

A Key Milestone in Southeast Asia

Standard Insurance becomes the fifth facility in Southeast Asia to join the Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project, following the endorsement of En Tsumugi ELV Dismantler Corporation in Mexico, Pampanga—Toyota’s first recognized ELV dismantling site in the Philippines, endorsed in September 2024.

“We are very grateful to Standard Insurance for its voluntary resolve—making Toyota customers feel assured that there is a proper place for ELVs to go,” said Masando Hashimoto, President of TMP.

“Our collective efforts are a testament to our long-term commitment to carbon neutrality and to establishing a recycling-based society and systems as part of the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050,” Hashimoto added.

A Stronger Private Sector Role

Standard Insurance, a key partner in TMP’s Toyota Insure program since 2021, reinforces its commitment to sustainable business practices through this initiative. By joining forces with Toyota, the company contributes not just to responsible ELV handling but also to building a stronger and greener auto ecosystem in the region.

The Toyota Global 100 Dismantlers Project continues to expand globally, tackling environmental challenges head-on through proper vehicle dismantling, pollution reduction, and sustainable resource use—paving the way for a more responsible automotive industry.
