Originally designed as a practical electric vehicle for everyday errands, school runs, and city commutes, the VinFast VF 3 is proving it can do much more than serve as an urban mobility solution. Across Southeast Asia, the compact electric SUV is now finding a new purpose—supporting law enforcement and public service operations.

In recent weeks, police agencies in both the Philippines and Indonesia have begun deploying the VinFast VF 3, highlighting the vehicle’s growing versatility and reinforcing the broader shift toward sustainable mobility in government fleets.
Driving Sustainable Public Safety in the Philippines
In the Philippines, the Municipality of Noveleta in Cavite has introduced the VinFast VF 3 as part of its electric police patrol fleet, underscoring its commitment to sustainable governance, environmental responsibility, and modern public safety.
As the first municipality in the CALABARZON region to adopt electric vehicle mobility goals, Noveleta is taking a significant step toward greener transportation by integrating the VF 3 into its daily patrol operations. The initial rollout includes units supplied through VinFast Marikina and Xentro, with additional vehicles expected to join the fleet in the coming months.
Beyond supporting routine patrol duties, the electric vehicles are expected to help reduce fuel consumption, lower maintenance expenses, and improve long-term operating efficiency—advantages that are becoming increasingly attractive for local government units looking to modernize their vehicle fleets.
Supporting High-Tech Traffic Enforcement in Indonesia
The VF 3 has also taken on a specialized role in neighboring Indonesia.

Indonesia’s National Traffic Police Corps recently unveiled its Precision Drone Patrol ETLE program, a technology-driven initiative that utilizes drones to monitor road conditions and detect traffic violations more efficiently.
To support the program, authorities selected a specially modified VinFast VF 3 as a mobile transport vehicle for drone equipment. The vehicle’s rear compartment was redesigned to accommodate storage and deployment systems, enabling officers to transport and launch drones from multiple locations with ease.
Its compact dimensions proved to be a major advantage, allowing officers to navigate congested city streets, access narrow roads, and operate in urban environments where larger vehicles would be less practical.
Compact Size, Big Capabilities
Although the Philippine and Indonesian deployments serve different operational needs, both demonstrate the VF 3’s adaptability for public service applications.
The move also reflects a broader global trend, with government agencies and law enforcement organizations increasingly exploring electric vehicles to reduce emissions, lower operating costs, and modernize transportation systems. Compared with conventional gasoline-powered vehicles, EVs generally require less maintenance, eliminate tailpipe emissions, offer lower day-to-day energy costs, and incorporate advanced digital technologies that enhance operational efficiency.
Several characteristics make the VinFast VF 3 particularly well-suited for these roles.
Measuring just 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height, the compact SUV is designed to maneuver through crowded streets, narrow roads, busy public markets, and tight parking spaces with ease. Despite its small footprint, it rides on 16-inch wheels with 175 mm of ground clearance, giving it SUV-inspired capability for varying road conditions.
The VF 3 also offers an estimated driving range of up to 215 kilometers on a full charge—sufficient for several days of typical urban driving. When recharging is needed, its battery can be replenished from 10% to 70% in approximately 36 minutes using DC fast charging, minimizing vehicle downtime for both fleet operators and private owners.
A Small EV Making a Big Impact
The latest public service deployments add another milestone to what has become one of VinFast’s most successful electric vehicle models.
In Vietnam, VinFast has maintained its position as the country’s best-selling automotive brand for 20 consecutive months, with the VF 3 emerging as one of its strongest contributors. In May 2026 alone, the company delivered 4,770 VF 3 units, bringing total deliveries to 20,231 vehicles during the first five months of the year.
The model’s momentum is now extending across Southeast Asia, where buyers in the Philippines and Indonesia are embracing the VF 3 as an affordable, practical, and stylish entry point into electric mobility.
Unlike many vehicles in the entry-level segment, the VF 3 features a distinctive boxy, SUV-inspired design that gives it a more commanding road presence while maintaining exceptional maneuverability for city driving.
Ownership is further supported by a seven-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, a 10-year battery warranty, VinFast’s expanding after-sales network, and complimentary charging at V-Green charging stations—benefits designed to make EV ownership more convenient and cost-effective.
As fuel prices continue to fluctuate and interest in sustainable transportation grows, the VF 3 presents an attractive option for both individual motorists and fleet operators seeking lower running costs without sacrificing practicality.
Whether transporting families through busy city streets, assisting police patrols in Philippine communities, or supporting drone-based traffic enforcement in Indonesia, the VinFast VF 3 is demonstrating that innovation, efficiency, and versatility can come in a remarkably compact package.
