ABS-CBN Studio 10 — There was a different kind of energy inside the studio on Friday, March 6. You could feel the excitement, but also a sense of nostalgia, as the cast and creative team behind La Playa Roja gathered for what would be their final mediacon.

With only five nights left before the curtain falls on one of the year’s most talked-about action dramas, the atmosphere was both celebratory and emotional. For months, the show has kept viewers glued to their screens with its gritty storytelling, explosive action scenes, and complicated family drama.

For lead stars Donny Pangilinan and Kyle Echarri, the journey has been intense—and deeply personal.

Both actors admitted that the “blood, sweat, and tears” often mentioned in the show’s promotions weren’t just for show. From physically demanding fight scenes to long lock-in tapings, the experience pushed them to their limits. But in the process, it also brought the cast closer together.

“It really felt like we built a brotherhood here,” one of the stars shared during the mediacon, recalling the long nights and challenging scenes they faced together.

The Final 5 Nights: Justice, Loyalty, or Revenge?

As the show heads into its final stretch, the big question hanging over the story remains the same: in a world shaped by past sins, which will prevail—justice, loyalty, or revenge?

For Liam, played by Pangilinan, the stakes couldn’t be higher. In a dramatic turn of events, he makes the painful decision to surrender his own mother, Greta (Lorna Tolentino), to the authorities. It’s a moment that could define the future of the Roja family—raising the question of whether justice can truly heal deep wounds.

Meanwhile, Olsen, portrayed by Echarri, finds himself at a critical crossroads. After a season filled with tension and conflict, the revelation that he shares a bloodline with Liam changes everything. What began as a complicated rivalry has evolved into an unlikely partnership.

Their final challenge? Surviving a dangerous mission inside a tunnel rigged with explosives while trying to rescue the remaining hostages.

Then there’s Emil, also known as Uno, played by veteran actor Joel Torre. A man driven by a deep desire for revenge, Emil has nothing left to lose. His long-standing vendetta against Magnus (Raymond Bagatsing) is expected to reach its boiling point in the finale—one that could take everyone down with him.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

But the mediacon wasn’t just about action-packed teasers and dramatic plot twists.

Director Lawrence Fajardo and the creative team revealed that the ending will be “bittersweet,” staying true to the show’s emotional core rather than simply delivering a traditional happy ending.

Fans have been rooting for Liam, Olsen, and Luna (Maymay Entrata) to find peace after everything they’ve gone through. But according to the cast, the “Final Escape” will leave lasting consequences for everyone involved.

“We wanted to give the audience a finale that respects the journey,” Pangilinan said during the panel. “After everything the characters have been through, it’s really about finding light after seeing red for so long.”

Don’t Miss the Red Finale

With just five nights left, viewers can expect a thrilling and emotional ride as the story of La Playa Roja finally reaches its climax.

Will justice prevail? Will revenge finally end? Or will the cycle continue?

Fans will soon find out.
