Solaire, QC Government, and QCU Partner to Reduce Textile Waste

In a meaningful move that blends sustainability with social impact, Solaire Resort North and Solaire Resort Entertainment City, through their corporate social responsibility arm Solaire Cares, have turned uniforms into opportunities. On August 12, the resorts donated 116 bags of pre-loved uniforms to the Barangay Bagong Pag-asa Local Government Unit (LGU) and Quezon City University (QCU)—a gesture that not only reduces textile waste but also uplifts local communities.

Barangay Bagong Pag-asa Administration Officer Boret Fernando, Assistant Secretary Shannen Vael, and QCU Administration Head Grace Josue warmly received the donations during a turnover ceremony, highlighting their value in strengthening community programs and enhancing student activities.

The initiative, spearheaded by Solaire’s Human Relations Strategic Development and Special Projects Team, is not new. It has previously extended support to LGUs and schools across Parañaque City, Manila, Cavite, and even as far as Zambales—showing how sustainability and community care can reach beyond boundaries.

By giving quality garments a second life, the project aligns with Quezon City’s zero-waste goals and QCU’s circular fashion practices, including recycling, upcycling, and regular participation in sustainability-driven events. Beyond immediate needs, the donation also promotes a culture of responsibility—proving that what may be “pre-loved” still carries the power to create meaningful change.
