After three years away from primetime drama, Gerald Anderson makes his much-awaited comeback in ABS-CBN’s newest crime-thriller, “Sins of the Father,” airing June 23 (Monday) at 9:30 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, iWant, and TFC.
In this bold and socially resonant series, Gerald takes on the role of Samuel Trinidad, a bank manager whose life spirals after discovering his estranged father’s connection to a large-scale scam—a scenario all too familiar to many Filipinos today.
Now marking his 19th year in showbiz, Gerald said he intentionally chooses roles that highlight real-life issues.
“Lagi kong nire-request sa ABS na sana may social awareness ang proyekto. Maraming distractions ngayon—scamming, social media. Gusto ko, may natutunan ang mga manonood,” he said.
Adding more excitement to the series is the much-anticipated return of Jessy Mendiola, back on TV after six years. The show reunites her with Gerald more than a decade after their 2011 drama “Budoy.”
“Ang dami nang nangyari sa buhay namin simula noon. I’m just really happy to be working with Gerald again,” Jessy shared.
Directed by the acclaimed FM Reyes and Bjoy Balagtas, “Sins of the Father” is a gripping story of redemption, justice, and facing the sins of the past.
“The series reflects the harsh realities of today—scamming, desperation—and it was Gerald who really pushed for a story with social relevance,” said Direk FM.
Direk Bjoy added, “It’s a personal journey of correcting past wrongs and changing one’s future.”
The star-studded cast also includes Shaina Magdayao, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, JC De Vera, RK Bagatsing, Lotlot de Leon, John Arcilla, Joko Diaz, and Tirso Cruz III. Supporting them are Soliman Cruz, Malou Crisologo, Nico Antonio, Jerald Napoles, Alex Medina, and many more.
