Shell Rimula’s Latest Campaign Salutes Filipino Trucking Professionals

Shell Pilipinas Corporation, through its heavy-duty lubricants brand Shell Rimula, successfully wrapped up its nationwide “Bida Ang Biyahe Ko!” (BABK) program—an initiative dedicated to recognizing, equipping, and empowering Filipino truck drivers and mechanics who play a critical role in the country’s transport and logistics ecosystem.

Launched earlier this year and running through October, the multi-city program reached key transport hubs across the Philippines, including Davao, Cebu, La Union, Caloocan, and Laguna. In total, the initiative engaged approximately 250 truck drivers and mechanics, bringing education, skills development, and recognition directly to those who keep goods and businesses moving nationwide.

Championing Road Heroes in a Rapidly Evolving Logistics Industry

The accelerated growth of e-commerce in the Philippines has significantly transformed the transport and logistics landscape. As online retail continues to expand, demand for light commercial vehicles (LCVs), skilled drivers, and dependable fleet operations has surged. With tighter delivery schedules and heavier workloads now the norm, truck drivers and mechanics remain at the frontline of maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable supply chains.

In response, Shell Rimula designed Bida Ang Biyahe Ko! to celebrate these everyday road heroes while reinforcing the importance of engine care and road safety. The multi-stage program combined skills challenges, technical learning sessions, and wellness activities, offering participants both practical knowledge and professional recognition.

Key sessions focused on physical and mental road readiness, proper interpretation of road signage, and best practices in vehicle maintenance—critical measures that help prevent accidents and extend vehicle reliability. Participants who successfully completed Stages 1 and 2 of the program also qualified for TESDA National Certificate (NC) I, providing a tangible boost to their professional credentials.

Powering Performance with Shell Rimula LD5

To support drivers navigating the demands of modern LCV engines, Shell Rimula showcased its Light Duty Oils (LD5) throughout the program. Formulated with Dynamic Protection Plus Technology, LD5 is designed to protect engines from wear, oil oxidation, and deposit build-up—common challenges in urban driving conditions characterized by stop-and-go traffic and variable loads.

By delivering smoother performance and enhanced engine protection, Shell Rimula LD5 helps drivers stay confident on the road while reinforcing Shell’s long-standing commitment to safety, reliability, and performance.

Driving Safety, Skills, and Well-Being

“Facilitating PMS seminars through Shell Rimula Bida Ang Biyahe Ko! reminds truck drivers that proper knowledge and periodic maintenance are essential to keeping their vehicles—and themselves—safe every day,” said Bryan M. Landicho, TESDA Assessor.

Echoing this message, Ariel Del Rosario, LTO-accredited lecturer and road safety instructor, emphasized, “Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” underscoring the campaign’s focus on defensive driving and responsible road behavior.

True to Shell’s purpose of powering progress through care, the program also integrated wellness initiatives to address the physical demands of long-haul driving. Participants received free eye checkups and prescription glasses, helping mitigate risks associated with visual fatigue and impaired eyesight—common challenges among professional drivers.

A Continuing Commitment to Filipino Drivers

The Bida Ang Biyahe Ko! program was made possible through strategic partnerships with Bike Night Asia, TESDA, and the Land Transportation Office (LTO). Building on its success, Shell plans to expand the initiative to more key provinces, including Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, and Pampanga, in 2026.
