KV - 2025 National Champion for Shell Advance Masters

Shell Pilipinas Corporation has successfully wrapped up the Shell Mekaniko League 2025, marking a historic moment for the country’s automotive industry. For the first time, car and motorcycle experts united under a single national stage, with over 2,000 participants from 26 provinces joining Shell’s biggest mechanic competition to date.

Charlie Sandoval shines as the 2025 National Champion of the Shell Advance Masters, standing tall at the center of the podium. Flanking him in celebration are Norman Cabal (2nd Place), Joefel Foronda (3rd Place), Joevanne Sayat (4th Place), and Allen Kenneth Rañon (5th Place), representing the country’s finest motorcycle mechanics.

From its kickoff in March to the Grand Finale at Le Pavillon, Pasay City, the Mekaniko League blended high-level competition with real-world skills development. Contestants trained under Shell-led workshops and TESDA-certified modules, preparing them for NC I and NC II certifications that boost their credentials and livelihood opportunities. Semi-finalists faced rigorous challenges — from written exams and parts identification to live repair tests that mirrored actual workshop scenarios. Each semi-final winner received ₱50,000 and advanced to the highly anticipated Grand Finale.

In the national showdown, the country’s top mekanikos proved their mettle in a thrilling competition.

  • Mark Anthony Calimag (Quezon City) was crowned Shell Helix Auto Mekaniko Champions 2025 National Champion.
  • Charlie Sandoval (Caloocan City) clinched the title of Shell Advance Masters 2025 National Champion.

Both champions earned ₱200,000 each and an all-expenses-paid trip to Malaysia to witness MotoGP, joined by the Top 5 car mechanics and Top 3 motorcycle mechanics.

Mark Anthony Calimag takes the top spot as the 2025 National Champion of the Shell Helix Auto Mekaniko Champions, joined on the podium by 2nd Place winner R-Jay Alvarez and 3rd Place winner Manny Basong.

“What began in 2024 as a handful of regional runs has now grown into a nationwide movement that honors the grit, craftsmanship, and livelihood of Filipino mekanikos,” shared Jackie Famorca, Vice President and General Manager for Lubricants, Shell Pilipinas Corporation. “Through the Mekaniko League, we merge competition with certification — empowering mechanics with the recognition and skills that truly matter in the workplace.”

TESDA also emphasized its commitment to the partnership. Brian Landicho, TESDA Competency Assessor for Small Engine Servicing NC II, remarked: “Seeing the passion and commitment of our motorcycle mechanics is inspiring. TESDA fully supports Shell Advance’s efforts to raise industry standards through certified training.”
