Queen of Asian Hip-Hop Becomes First Asian Artist to Headline Red Bull Symphonic

Japanese hip-hop powerhouse Awich is set to enter a bold new musical chapter as she brings her acclaimed catalogue to the orchestral stage for the debut of Red Bull Symphonic Japan. Across four exclusive performances in Osaka, Fukuoka, Sendai, and Yokohama, Awich will transform her signature hip-hop sound into a cinematic live experience alongside a full orchestra.

This November, Awich will headline the inaugural Japanese edition of Red Bull Symphonic, an acclaimed concert series known for bringing celebrated artists together with full orchestras to create entirely new interpretations of their music. For the Japan debut, Awich will perform with the Tokyo Secret Orchestra under the direction of conductor Mika Takayama.

For the first time, Awich’s catalogue will be reimagined through newly commissioned symphonic arrangements, expanding the raw energy, rhythm, and emotion of her music through the scale and richness of a live orchestra.

Known for constantly pushing creative boundaries, Awich considers the collaboration a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

“Hip-hop is a genre born from the use of sampling and beats in environments where access to traditional instruments was often difficult. Being able to reconstruct my songs with an orchestra feels like a significant milestone and holds deep meaning for me. I hope to deliver a cinematic musical experience—something that feels like watching an epic film,” says Awich.

Created exclusively for Red Bull Symphonic, the new arrangements go beyond simply adding orchestral instrumentation to Awich’s existing tracks. Each song has been reconstructed from the ground up, with its melody, rhythm, harmony, and other musical elements reinterpreted while retaining the spirit of the original works.

The result promises to offer audiences an entirely new way of experiencing Awich’s music, bringing together the immediacy and intensity of Japanese hip-hop with the expansive dynamics of a symphonic performance.

Four Exclusive Performances Across Japan

The Red Bull Symphonic Japan performances will take place at four of the country’s prestigious concert venues:

  • The Symphony Hall, Osaka — November 17
  • Fukuoka Symphony Hall — November 19
  • Sendai Bank Hall Izumity 21 — November 25
  • Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall — November 27

Awich joins a Red Bull Symphonic lineup that has previously featured internationally acclaimed artists including Metro Boomin, Asake, and Rick Ross. With her Japan debut, she becomes the first Asian artist to join the Red Bull Symphonic lineup, bringing her distinctive voice and artistic vision into an ambitious new musical setting.

The collaboration marks another step in Awich’s continuing evolution as an artist—one that explores how the foundations of hip-hop can be expanded through orchestral composition while preserving the authenticity and spirit that define her music.

Advance ticket sales begin Friday, August 7, at 6:00 PM (JST). Additional event information and updates are available through Red Bull Symphonic.
