PNB Holdings Corporation (PHC) reinforced its commitment to sustainability by participating in Earth Hour 2026, switching off nonessential lighting across its major properties in Pasay and Makati. More than a symbolic gesture, the coordinated effort forms part of PHC’s broader resource management strategy—using the annual observance as a checkpoint to evaluate energy consumption patterns and validate efficiency measures already embedded in its operations.

But PHC’s environmental efforts extend far beyond a single hour.

At the core of its sustainability push is the rollout of the EcoStation, developed in partnership with Rezbin, a multi-award-winning, tech-enabled waste management firm. Designed as a behavior-driven, rewards-based system, the EcoStation encourages consistent recycling across PHC properties. Since its launch at the PNB Makati Center in November 2025, the initiative has successfully diverted over 17,000 recyclable items from landfills, with expansion now underway at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City.

Complementing its waste-reduction efforts, PHC has implemented a series of energy-optimization measures across its portfolio. Equipment such as pumps, elevators, and chillers is now scheduled based on real-time occupancy, minimizing unnecessary energy use. The company has also accelerated upgrades to LED lighting, variable frequency drives, and inverter-based systems—enhancing efficiency while reducing operational costs.

Water management remains another key focus. Through improved system tuning and operational controls, PHC has enhanced water efficiency across its properties. At the PNB Financial Center, an on-site sewage treatment plant plays a critical role in sustainability efforts by recycling treated water for landscape irrigation.

Together, these initiatives underscore PHC’s long-term approach to responsible operations—integrating sustainability into everyday processes rather than limiting it to annual campaigns. By aligning operational efficiency with environmental stewardship, the company continues to advance its commitment to greener, more resilient properties year-round.
