PHC Launches Mindfulness-Based Wellness Program to Support Employee Mental Health

In a forward-thinking move that puts mental health and emotional well-being at the forefront, PNB Holdings Corporation (PHC) has officially launched Points-of-You® – Journey to Mindfulness—a groundbreaking wellness initiative under PHC Academy, the company’s premier learning and development arm.

Held on June 27, 2025, at the serene Sol Y Viento Hotels and Resorts in Calamba, Laguna, the launch event gathered employees from various departments for a deeply immersive and transformative experience centered on mindfulness, emotional resilience, and authentic connection.

Well-being in the “Here and Now”

Conceptualized by PHC’s Training and Organizational Development Department, the program falls under the Solicitude Pillar of PHC Academy, which champions holistic employee well-being. Grounded in Gestalt Psychology’s “Here and Now” principle, the initiative empowers participants to manage stress, reduce anxiety, and reconnect with themselves by embracing the present moment.

“The future of work isn’t just about performance—it’s about people,” shared Gladys K. Uy, PHC’s Vice President for Human Resources and Administration. “With Journey to Mindfulness, we are building a workplace where mental health is prioritized and where our people feel empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.”

A Journey Through Awareness, Authenticity, and Integration

The program is structured around three key modules—Awareness, Authenticity, and Integration—each guiding participants through a process of introspection, emotional processing, and creative discovery using the internationally acclaimed Points-of-You® methodology.

Mindfulness-Based Wellness Program

Through a series of guided mindfulness exercises, open sharing, and interactive activities, participants explored their emotions, strengthened their inner awareness, and forged meaningful connections with colleagues in a safe, supportive space.

“This initiative was born out of a deep desire to help our people navigate the emotional demands of modern work life,” said Neven Rivera, Training and OD Manager and the program’s key proponent. “We’re not just teaching mindfulness—we’re cultivating a culture of empathy, presence, and self-awareness.”

PHC’s timely and proactive approach comes as more organizations around the world revisit their strategies for employee engagement and mental wellness.
