Kapuso star and “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” Big Winner Mika Salamanca made a smashing entry into the music scene with her latest single “Kasalanan”, released under Star Music on February 6. The track instantly soared to No. 1 on iTunes Philippines and was featured in Spotify’s New Music Fridays as well as Billboard Philippines’ top picks, signaling the start of an exciting new chapter in Mika’s music career.
Penned by Star Music talents Jeremy G and WRIVE members Russu Laurente and Ishiro Incapas, “Kasalanan” explores the thrill of fearlessly falling in love, embracing emotions freely without worrying about what others think.
“It is also a love letter to my fans who have been there for me no matter what,” Mika shared.
The official music video features a mafia-inspired love story, co-starring Kapamilya actor Anthony Jennings. Mika praised Anthony for his guidance and action-stunt experience, which brought authenticity and excitement to the project.
“Anthony is perfect for the role since he is used to doing action stunts. He guided me all throughout, and I am very thankful to him for being part of the music video,” she said.
Mika debuted “Kasalanan” on national television via “It’s Showtime”, delivering a powerful performance alongside Femme MNL, while fans also got a live dose of the song at the Wonderful Moments Music Festival at SMDC Grounds, performing alongside stars like Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Gloc 9, BINI, and Cup of Joe.
This latest release follows Mika’s highly successful debut single “Sino Nga Ba Siya”, which topped iTunes charts in the Philippines and UAE, charted in Singapore, Cambodia, and Qatar, and reached the top 10 of Spotify’s Viral Songs Chart with over 5 million streams. She also collaborated with fellow “PBB” winner Brent Manalo on “What If Tayo?”, which dominated the MYX Daily Top 10 and has racked up 1.1 million YouTube views.
“Kasalanan” is now available on all digital streaming platforms, and the music video can be watched on the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel. Stay updated on Mika’s latest releases by following Star Music on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
