Premieres October 31 on free TV, ABS-CBN News online platforms, and iWant

Veteran broadcaster Noli de Castro recently returned to Philippine television to host the eighth installment of the annual ABS-CBN News Halloween documentary special, “Kababalaghan 8: Pagkagat ng Dilim,” which premiered on Saturday, October 31. The special continued its long-running tradition of exploring spine-chilling, alleged supernatural encounters across Metro Manila, featuring paranormal incidents that were even caught on camera.
The program focused on three terrifying accounts from local families:
• “Bulong” (The Whisper): De Castro visited a generational ancestral home in southern Metro Manila. The residents reported decades of unsettling events, most notably hearing disembodied whispers and witnessing bloodied apparitions inside the house.
• “Upuan” (The Chair): This segment featured the Ditablan family from Taguig City, who captured shocking security footage of a chair levitating on its own before violently being thrown aside. The family believes a mysterious, old tree outside their house is tied to the disturbances.
• “Bahay ni Tiya” (Aunt’s House): The final story followed Mich’s family, who relocated to a relative’s old property in northern Metro Manila. While their initial stay on the lower floor was peaceful, intense paranormal activity erupted immediately after they converted an upstairs room into a bedroom. Their frightening experiences were subsequently documented and uploaded to social media, gaining significant traction online.
The full feature originally streamed on the ABS-CBN News YouTube Channel and was broadcast across free television channels, including A2Z and ALLTV.
The Halloween special premiered at 6:45 PM on ABS-CBN News’ YouTube channel, followed by its TV airing at 10:30 PM on ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live.
A replay will air on November 1 at 6 PM on ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live, as well as ABS-CBN News’ Facebook page. The special will also be available on demand on iWant.
