Makati Pride 2025 A Celebration of Inclusivity

On June 21, 2025, Barangay Poblacion in Makati City came alive with color, music, and a spirit of unity as Makati Pride 2025 took over the streets with its official celebration, “Spread the Love, Makati.” More than just a party, the city-wide event transformed Makati into a vibrant, inclusive space — amplifying the message of love, equality, and solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Taking center stage was a visually stunning backdrop crafted by acclaimed Filipino visual artist and activist Leeroy New, setting the tone for a day filled with dynamic energy and purpose. From lively pop-up activities to engaging conversations and powerhouse performances, the celebration pulsed with creativity and pride.

Steering the afternoon’s festivities were beloved transgender icons Sassa Gurl and Jervi “KaladKaren” Wrightson, who lit up the stage with their trademark humor, heart, and unapologetic authenticity.

Opening the program with a heartfelt message was Congressman Luis Campos, who spoke directly to the LGBTQIA+ community with admiration and respect:

“To our vibrant and resilient LGBTQ+ community, your courage, love, and authenticity inspire us every day.”
He emphasized that Pride is more than a celebration — it’s a statement of strength, of owning one’s truth, and of standing proudly in the face of adversity.
“Haligi kayo ng ating lungsod,” he declared — a powerful recognition of the community’s role as pillars of Makati.

Also present were Congresswoman-elect Monique Lagdameo, who underscored how Pride is a platform for real change, and Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, who delivered an impassioned speech affirming the community’s rights:

The party didn’t stop there. The night’s musical lineup also featured soulful and high-voltage acts from Gigi Vibes, Jason Dhakal, O Bar’s O2Men, and DJ Xtina Superstar — each performance a tribute to the strength, talent, and passion of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Makati Pride 2025 wasn’t just a moment — it was a movement. A vibrant declaration that Pride isn’t confined to June; it’s a year-round commitment to visibility, equality, and love.

With bold voices, brilliant colors, and unwavering support, Makati proudly stands with the LGBTQIA+ community — every single day of the year.
