For Vaneza Soriano, a devoted housewife, life once revolved around caring for her family—until she discovered a new path through the transformative power of beauty. Vaneza’s journey is one of many inspiring stories that reflect the heart of the BFBL program. Since its launch in 2017, the initiative has equipped over 524 Filipino women with professional hairdressing skills, offering not just education but a sustainable livelihood to support themselves and their families.

This year marked a new chapter as BFBL expanded to Mandaluyong City, marking the city’s first partnership with L’Oréal for this life-changing program. The latest batch of 47 trainees was recently honored during a graduation ceremony at Mandaluyong City Hall, celebrating the culmination of their two-month hands-on training and salon internship experience in L’Oréal partner salons across Metro Manila.

But this wasn’t just a graduation—it was a celebration of renewed hope and empowered dreams.

“Beauty is a force for good and a catalyst for change. At L’Oréal, we believe it can transform lives. Through Beauty for a Better Life, we equip women with the skills they need to build sustainable careers and reclaim their confidence. Today’s graduates are proof of that mission in action,”
said Yassine Bakkari, Country Managing Director of L’Oréal Philippines.

For Vaneza, the experience was truly life-changing.

“Before this program, I thought being a homemaker meant putting my dreams aside,” she shared. “But BFBL showed me that my passion could be my profession. I now have the skills and courage to create a better life for myself and my family.”

Beyond hairdressing, the program empowers women with financial literacy and personal development training, giving them the confidence to take charge of their futures. Through BFBL, L’Oréal continues to champion inclusivity and uplift communities—transforming thousands of lives across more than 30 countries.
