During his ministerial visit to the Philippines, Minister Sarwar made a special stop at Jollibee’s BGC Triangle Drive store in Taguig City, where he got a firsthand taste of one of the country’s most beloved homegrown brands.

Jollibee Group Chairman and Founder Dr. Tony Tan Caktiong and Jollibee Group Global Chief Business Support Officer William Tan Untiong warmly welcomed Minister Sarwar, together with British Ambassador to the Philippines Sarah Hulton, OBE.

The visit turned into a fun-filled Jollibee experience as Minister Sarwar and Ambassador Hulton toured the store, met members of the Jollibee crew, and explored the menu featuring some of the brand’s iconic favorites.
Among the must-try treats served up for the British dignitaries were Jollibee staples Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, Champ Burger, Chicken Nuggets, and Peach Mango Pie—giving the visiting officials a flavorful introduction to some of the dishes that have made Jollibee a Filipino favorite around the world.
From Chickenjoy to a Barong-clad Funko Pop
Minister Sarwar also took time to connect with the Jollibee team and customers during his visit.

He happily posed for selfies, chatted with crew members and customers, and even received a special Jollibee Funko Pop figure dressed in a Barong Tagalog—a uniquely Filipino keepsake to remember his visit.
The lighthearted moments at the BGC store added a personal touch to a visit that also carried important diplomatic and economic significance.
A Milestone Visit for UK-Philippines Relations
Minister Sarwar’s visit marks the first ministerial visit by a UK Trade Minister to the Philippines in nine years, underscoring the continuing efforts of the United Kingdom and the Philippines to strengthen their bilateral engagement.
