The Jollibee Group is strengthening its commitment to inclusive employment by expanding its program for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through a new partnership with the Taguig City Government.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the collaboration aims to create more meaningful work opportunities for qualified senior citizens and PWDs, empowering them to remain active contributors in the workforce while fostering greater workplace inclusivity.
Under the agreement, 16 company-owned stores in Taguig across Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, and Burger King will participate in the initiative. Each store is expected to employ two senior citizens and one person with a disability, opening new opportunities for individuals who wish to continue working or return to employment.
Expanding Opportunities for Inclusive Employment
The initiative builds on the success of the Jollibee Group’s inclusive employment program, which was launched in 2019. Since then, the company has provided meaningful job opportunities to more than 1,000 senior citizens and persons with disabilities through partnerships with various local government units nationwide.
By working closely with the Taguig City Government, the Jollibee Group aims to further promote dignified employment while recognizing the valuable experience, skills, and contributions that senior citizens and PWDs bring to the workplace.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating an inclusive community where individuals are empowered to remain productive, engaged, and economically active.
A Collaborative Approach to Employment
The program brings together several key offices of the Taguig City Government to ensure applicants receive comprehensive support throughout the employment process.
The Public Employment Services Office (PESO) will receive applications, conduct initial interviews and applicant profiling, explain program qualifications, issue recommendations for medical examinations, and facilitate pre-employment training for qualified candidates.
Meanwhile, the City Health Office will oversee physical, medical, and laboratory examinations and facilitate the issuance of the Mayor’s Occupational Permit for applicants who are certified fit to work.
The Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) will help promote the program within the community, provide counseling and debriefing for applicants when needed, and assist in monitoring and evaluating the initiative.
On the company side, the Jollibee Group will conduct interviews, employee orientation, skills training, and minimal employment-related assessments. It will also assist successful applicants in opening payroll bank accounts at no cost.
Creating Meaningful Roles
Qualified senior citizens and PWDs will take on customer-facing positions that allow them to actively contribute to restaurant operations.
These include roles such as order presenters, drink drawers, table managers, and guest relations staff, enabling them to engage with customers while becoming valued members of the restaurant team.
“This program is meaningful because it gives our senior citizens and persons with disabilities a chance to continue contributing in ways that are seen, valued, and respected,” said Joseph Tanbuntiong, CEO of Jollibee Group Philippines and Head of Jollibee Brand Global.
“At the Jollibee Group, we believe that our growth should also create opportunities for people in the communities we serve. Through partnerships like this with Taguig City, we can open more spaces where people can feel productive, connected, and part of something bigger.”
Inclusion Beyond Employment
For the Jollibee Group, the partnership forms part of its broader sustainability agenda, which seeks to create lasting positive impact through inclusive growth and responsible business practices.

“Work can give people more than income. It can give confidence, friendship, and a renewed sense of purpose,” said Ruth Angeles, Chief HR Officer of Jollibee Group Philippines and HR Head of Jollibee Brand Global.
“That is why this program matters to us. It reminds us that inclusion is not just a policy or a program. It is something we make real when we welcome people into our teams, support them in their roles, and recognize the value they bring every day.”
As the partnership with the Taguig City Government moves forward, the Jollibee Group continues to reinforce its vision of building workplaces where people of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to participate, contribute, and thrive—demonstrating that inclusive employment creates stronger businesses, empowered communities, and a more compassionate society.
