“House of the Dragon” Season Two Premiere on HBO/HBO GO

HBO’S FIRST-EVER “DUELING” TRAILERS RELEASED

The highly anticipated eight-episode second season of the HBO Original drama series House of the Dragon is set to premiere on Monday, June 17, airing on HBO and available for streaming on HBO GO.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming and Head of HBO Drama Series & Films, unveiled HBO’s groundbreaking “dueling” trailers at Series Mania in Lille, France, on Thursday, March 21, coinciding with WBD’s announcement that Max will launch in Europe starting May 21.

Set against the backdrop of a looming civil war in Westeros, with the Green and Black Councils vying for dominance in support of King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively, the two perspectives are depicted in separate yet complementary halves of the same story. As the realm fractures in season two, audiences worldwide are urged to “Choose a Side” of House Targaryen.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, delves into the history of House Targaryen.

Returning to the cast for season two are Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast members include Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

Co-created and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, with Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis serving as executive producers.
