Global J-pop sensation Kocchi no Kento returns with his latest track, “Kekka Orai,” released worldwide on April 7, the same day as the premiere of the highly anticipated anime series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. Serving as the opening theme song, “Kekka Orai” is now available across digital platforms, accompanied by a newly released music video.

Described by Kento as a song written with “determination” and inspired by the feeling of “living in a place where I would not have been,” the track mirrors the emotional intensity and underdog spirit of the anime’s lead character, Koichi Haimawari.
“I’ve enjoyed reading Vigilantes so much that when I was offered the chance to write the opening theme, I felt incredibly honored and grateful. This marks my first opening theme for an anime, and I’m proud to walk alongside Koichi in his journey,” said Kocchi no Kento. “I gave my best to make sure the song enhances the experience of Vigilantes. I hope fans enjoy the anime together with ‘Kekka Orai.’”
Dubbed the “Green-Colored Multi-Talented Artist,” Kocchi no Kento continues to captivate audiences with his versatile artistry spanning music production, video direction, and graphic design. His previous single, “Hai Yorokonde” (released May 27, 2024), became a global viral phenomenon—racking up over 17 billion views across platforms, 240 million streams, and over 160 million views on its official music video.
The song dominated digital charts, reaching the top of Spotify’s Viral 50 Japan, as well as topping charts in South Korea, Taiwan, and 22 other countries. It also soared to #2 on the Billboard JAPAN Global Japan Songs excl. Japan chart and reached #14 globally on Spotify’s Viral 50.
In December 2024, Kocchi no Kento was honored with the 66th Japan Record Award for Best New Artist and performed at the prestigious 75th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, further cementing his place in the J-pop landscape.
Based on the official spin-off manga of My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set several years before the original series and follows unsanctioned heroes—known as Vigilantes—who act behind the scenes to protect others, even without recognition. Originally serialized from 2017 to 2022 on Shonen Jump+, the anime adaptation is now streaming worldwide.
