The World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2025 in Manila became a premier stage for the European poultry sector to highlight its core strengths: certified quality, transparency, and responsible production practices.

From August 6–9, 2025, under the banner of the campaign “European Poultry – From Our Farms to Your Tables,” organizations representing Europe’s poultry industry brought their expertise and values to the Philippine market. A special press event on August 7 gathered media representatives, industry leaders, and key business partners to further spotlight the EU’s high standards.

Raising Awareness Through EU Standards
Co-financed by the European Union, this three-year campaign aims to build greater awareness in the Philippines of the rigorous benchmarks that define EU poultry production. It focuses on reaching importers, distributors, and consumers who seek products with proven origins, consistent quality, and a strong commitment to responsibility.

“European poultry is about more than taste. It tells the story of how innovation goes hand in hand with caring for the environment, animal welfare, and consumer safety,” said Dariusz Goszczyński, President of the National Poultry Council – Chamber of Commerce (KRD-IG) in Poland, during the press event.

Beyond Taste: Trust and Responsibility
The event emphasized the role of EU certification systems, which ensure not only access to global markets but also guarantees of food safety and traceability. Attendees explored the foundations of EU poultry production: from efficient resource use and automation to rigorous animal welfare standards, social responsibility, and reducing food waste across the supply chain.

Strengthening Ties with the Philippine Market
European poultry’s strong presence at WOFEX 2025 marked another step toward deepening partnerships in the Philippines. With 724 exhibitors and over 72,000 visitors, the expo served as a dynamic hub for networking. The European campaign’s booth hosted dozens of B2B meetings, many of which are expected to lead to concrete business collaborations.

With the Philippines’ expanding middle class and growing demand for certified protein, European poultry is uniquely positioned to meet this demand — offering not only premium quality but also the assurance that every step of production is built on strict responsibility and sustainability standards.
