Boasting advancements like a higher 32.5-megapixel resolution, 7K 60p internal RAW, and Open Gate video shooting support, the EOS R6 Mark III raises the bar for a camera of its class.
Canon has unveiled the latest additions to its EOS R mirrorless ecosystem: the full-frame EOS R6 Mark III and the new RF45mm f/1.2 STM, a large-aperture standard prime lens crafted for enthusiasts and hobbyists alike.

Building on the success of the EOS R6 Mark II released in 2023, the EOS R6 Mark III elevates image quality, speed, and performance, while integrating professional-grade video capabilities that meet modern content creators’ demands.
Meanwhile, the RF45mm f/1.2 STM is Canon’s widest-aperture non-professional lens in the RF lineup. With a versatile 45mm focal length, it brings f/1.2 capability within reach for more users. On APS-C cameras like the EOS R50, it provides a portrait-friendly 72mm full-frame equivalent, offering photographers and videographers flexibility across genres.

“With the EOS R6 Mark III, the EOS R6 series enters its third generation, combining Canon’s latest photo and video technologies into a versatile tool for storytellers,” said Nagai Katsuyuki, Senior Director of Regional ICB Sales & Marketing, Canon Singapore.
Higher Resolution and Speed
The 32.5-megapixel sensor allows for finer details and flexible cropping without compromising quality. High-speed continuous shooting remains at up to 40 fps (electronic shutter) or 12 fps (mechanical/electronic first-curtain shutter), capturing up to 150 frames in rapid succession.
A pre-continuous shooting feature records up to 20 frames before pressing the shutter fully, enabling users to select the perfect moment post-capture. Advanced autofocus algorithms and Register People Priority—borrowed from the EOS R1—ensure reliable subject tracking in challenging scenarios such as events, concerts, or sports.
Professional-Grade Video Capabilities
The EOS R6 Mark III offers 7K 60p RAW recording and EOS R-series-first 3:2 Open Gate mode up to 7K 30p, providing flexibility for reframing horizontal and vertical content. Users can also record simultaneous proxy or 4K DCI MP4 files.
Expanded recording formats include Canon Log 2, HLG, and Canon Log 3, along with support for Custom Picture (CP) profiles and downloadable LUTs via the Camera Connect app. New video features such as AWB Response and Shockless WB enable seamless white balance transitions. A suite of 14 Color Filters, fast-motion (up to 60x), and slow-motion recording options offer further creative control.
Professional monitoring tools—including waveform, false colors, and zebras—help ensure accurate exposure and color fidelity for demanding video workflows.
Ergonomics and Usability
The EOS R6 Mark III retains the durable, reliable body of its predecessor with improved ergonomics, vertical-shooting support, and customizable buttons. It uses the LP-E6P battery, with optional BG-R20/BG-R20EP battery grip for extended shooting sessions.
RF45mm f/1.2 STM: Compact, Fast, and Affordable
The RF45mm f/1.2 STM delivers Canon’s renowned f/1.2 bokeh in a compact, lightweight (346g), and budget-friendly package. Designed for natural perspective photography, it excels in portraits, close-ups, and environmental shots. Its PMo aspherical lens elements and gear-type STM technology allow smooth autofocus and digital lens correction, delivering professional-quality results.
On APS-C cameras, it functions as a 72mm equivalent lens, ideal for portraits and street photography. Paired with the EOS R6 Mark III’s 5-axis image stabilization and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, the lens ensures sharp, low-light performance and precise subject tracking.
Powerful Combo for Advanced Enthusiasts

Together, the EOS R6 Mark III and RF45mm f/1.2 STM deliver high-resolution imaging, speed, advanced video functionality, and low-light performance—offering maximum versatility and cost-efficiency for creators seeking top-tier results without compromise.
