Chris LaRocca Drops Reflective New Track laundry day

Toronto-based artist Chris LaRocca returns with his second single of the year, “laundry day”, now available via Red Bull Records/Wonderchild. The heartfelt track captures a quiet but powerful moment of vulnerability in a growing relationship — when playful beginnings give way to something deeper and more lasting.

Inspired by a personal experience, LaRocca recalls sitting in his car under a flickering streetlight outside a Toronto laundromat as his partner opened up about her past, including her immigrant journey and emotional struggles. “As much as my heart broke for her, I was grateful to be the person she felt safe enough to confide in,” he shares. “laundry day” is a reflection on that pivotal moment — when love shifts from innocent to intentional, and two lives begin to intertwine.

Sonically, the track sees LaRocca explore new territory, drawing from ‘70s rock and Americana influences with rich, guitar-driven textures and twangy riffs. The song was co-written with Grammy-winning producer Daniel Lanois, who also contributed his iconic pedal steel sound, echoing the classic rock aesthetic he helped shape for legends like Bob Dylan and Peter Gabriel. The result is a moving, live-in-the-studio feel that perfectly mirrors the emotional depth of the lyrics.

“laundry day” follows the indie-pop single “ladybug”, LaRocca’s first release after a year-long creative retreat to redefine his artistry. With over 16 million career streams and a growing reputation for his distinctive voice and storytelling, 2025 is shaping up to be a transformative year for the rising singer-songwriter-producer.
