Norman Agatep, Chairman and CEO of integrated marketing communications powerhouse Grupo Agatep, has been recognized as one of Campaign Asia-Pacific’s inaugural “50 Over Fifty” honorees—a prestigious list celebrating the most inspiring marketing and communications professionals aged 50 and above across the region.

Released on April 29, the list features trailblazers from 14 Asia-Pacific markets, honoring individuals whose decades of leadership, innovation, and influence continue to shape the industry. Agatep is one of only two Filipinos recognized in this elite roster.

“The response from the industry for this initiative has been very strong, as we received many highly impressive nominations, making the job of Campaign Asia’s jury extremely difficult,” Campaign Asia-Pacific noted in its official announcement. The judging panel was led by Haymarket Managing Director Atifa Silk and Editorial Director Robert Sawatzky.

The “50 Over Fifty” list highlights a diverse slate of leaders—from chief marketers and agency executives to creatives, entrepreneurs, and mentors—who exemplify tenacity, experience, and visionary impact in today’s ever-evolving marketing landscape.

A Legacy of Leadership and Advocacy

Agatep’s recognition is a testament to his enduring impact on the Philippine communications industry. Beyond leading Grupo Agatep, he has played pivotal roles in various industry organizations. He is a former two-term Chairman of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As), two-term President of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), former Chairman of the Ad Standards Council (ASC), and former President of the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP).

He currently serves as Vice President-External of PRSP, Treasurer of the 4As, and Trustee of the ASC. On the global stage, Agatep is a Board Director of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, representing over 360,000 practitioners, academics, and students in 126 countries.

Championing Education and Excellence

A firm believer in nurturing future talent, Agatep also teaches Public Relations and Strategic Planning at the Ateneo de Manila University. He was recently appointed to the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Technical Panel for Broadcasting, Communication, and Journalism, further cementing his role in shaping the next generation of communicators.

In 2017, he was awarded the CEO Excel Award by IABC Philippines and holds the rare distinction of being Accredited in Public Relations (APR)—a mark of distinction and integrity in the field.

“I am honored to be part of this distinguished group of industry leaders,” Agatep shared. “This recognition affirms the purpose that drives our work—to elevate the standards of communication, inspire meaningful connections, and shape the future with integrity and creativity. I share this with my team and colleagues across the PR and advertising landscape, whose passion continues to drive our collective vision forward.”
