The Okinawa Actors School, one of Okinawa’s most influential performing arts institutions and the training ground of many Japanese pop icons in the 1990s, officially entered a new chapter following its full revival in 2023. Now, the school is introducing its first female act since the comeback—B. Rox (pronounced “B Rocks”), who made their debut with the digital single “Greedy Girls,” released on February 6.

The group launches under Sony Music’s RED Label, with “Greedy Girls” now available on major digital streaming platforms alongside its official music video.

A New Generation of Okinawan Talent

Based in Okinawa Prefecture, B.Rox is a dynamic dance and vocal trio composed of Hikaru (20), Rian (18), and Rune (16). All three members are part of B.B.WAVES, a unit within the newly revived Okinawa Actors School, and have quickly emerged as standout performers within the institution.

Despite their young average age of 18, the trio has already built a reputation for their explosive stage presence, expressive performances, and powerful vocals.

Their rising profile includes major appearances such as their first solo live concert in Naha City in summer 2024, as well as performances at the Okinawa Actors School Full Revival Festival at Nippon Budokan in March 2025 and at MAX’s 30th anniversary concert at the Okinawa Convention Center.

A Bold Debut Sound

B.Rox’s debut track “Greedy Girls” was produced by T.O.M, a hitmaker known for streaming successes and remixes for artists including Tokimeki Records, Hana Hope, and m-flo.

The lyrics were written by TSUGUMI, one-half of the influential sister duo SOULHEAD, who helped shape Japan’s R&B and hip-hop scene in the 2000s.

Blending hip-hop soul with modern R&B, the track delivers a bold, confident sound that captures the group’s ambitious spirit and fearless attitude.

“We believe B.Rox is a group where completely different personalities—our looks, voices, and characters—come together to create exciting performances,” shared Hikaru. “Greedy Girls feels like our dreams turned directly into a song. It expresses our determination to keep moving forward, no matter what anyone says. We’re working hard to become a group that people simply think is ‘cool,’ and we truly appreciate everyone’s support.”

From Okinawa to the World

Rather than following a typical K-pop formula, B.Rox is charting its own musical path—drawing inspiration from classic R&B girl groups like TLC, with a focus on individuality, strong vocals, and authentic stage presence.

With the guiding slogan “From Okinawa to the world,” the trio has already begun expanding internationally.

The Philippines became their first overseas destination, making the trip particularly meaningful as some members have Filipino roots. During their Manila visit, B.Rox appeared as a special guest at “PASSIONISM Volume 2.0,” organized by LIV Dance Academy, where they performed alongside fellow Okinawa Actors School group E’sekai.

The performance marked a successful first international showcase, signaling the start of B.Rox’s global journey.

As the Okinawa Actors School continues its revival, B.Rox stands at the forefront of a new generation of talent—ready to bring Okinawan artistry to audiences around the world.
