Alternative Rock: Christophe Sommereux Releases Debut Album

New Kapamilya artist Christophe Sommereux officially steps into the spotlight with the release of his self-titled debut album, marking a bold new chapter in his journey as a recording artist under ABS-CBN’s StarPop label.

The son of veteran actors Gladys Reyes and Christopher Roxas, Christophe shared his excitement online, embracing the challenge of carving out his own path in the OPM scene.

“I’m incredibly grateful and excited to be a part of this family. I’m ready to traverse the diverse, challenging, and unpredictable landscape of the OPM industry,” he wrote on Instagram.

Delivering a fresh take on love, comfort, and nostalgia, Christophe’s alternative rock album features six tracks that reflect his youthful yet thoughtful perspective. The album includes original compositions such as “Take Care,” “Sira,” and “Abot Bituin,” along with “Sine,” “Basta Ika’y Nariyan,” and “Aren’t You Ready.”

Among the standout tracks is “Sine,” composed and arranged by Gabriel Tagadtad, where Christophe paints a romantic, movie-like escape with a loved one.

A songwriter since the age of 15, Christophe draws inspiration from classic rock icons like The Beatles, Queen, and Guns N’ Roses. He has also shared the stage with OPM acts including BINI, Gloc-9, and December Avenue during the 2022 Summer Blast concert, where he performed before a crowd of over 50,000.

Produced by StarPop label head Rox Santos and ABS-CBN Music’s Jonathan Manalo, the album is now streaming on all major platforms.
