Manila’s premier high-fashion Halloween tradition made a grand return for its fifth year, transforming the local red carpet scene into a showcase of cinematic glamour and avant-garde style. The highly anticipated event, titled The New Nocturnals: Silver Screen: The Director’s Cut, took place at The Peninsula Manila on October 29, 2026, bringing together an elite roster of celebrities, top digital tastemakers, designers, and leading industry creatives.
A Historic Milestone Double-Celebration
Elevating the scale of this year’s festivities, the gala directly coincided with the historic 50th anniversary of The Peninsula Manila. For half a century, “The Pen” has served as the definitive heart of the city’s social, cultural, and artistic landscapes. By blending five decades of luxury hospitality heritage with the cutting-edge creative vision of The New Nocturnals, the evening established a historic new benchmark for Philippine fashion and nightlife culture.
Elevating Halloween into Haute Couture
Guided by the sophisticated theme “Silver Screen: The Director’s Cut,” the exclusive guest list was challenged to reimagine classic and contemporary filmmaking through an elevated fashion perspective. Transcending conventional Halloween costumes, attendees instead debuted bespoke couture masterpieces, archival runway selections, and bold, sophisticated sartorial interpretations of iconic movie moments.
“Nocturnals has always been more than a party—it is a living canvas where fashion, art, and self-expression take center stage,” said Mond Gutierrez, The New Nocturnals’ co-producer and founder. “Partnering with The Peninsula Manila during their Golden Jubilee elevates this year’s experience. ‘Silver Screen’ is a tribute to timeless glamour, reimagined by today’s boldest fashion visionaries,” also said by Ash Rye, the other half of The New Nocturnals’ producers and founders.
Set against the grand backdrop of The Peninsula Manila’s iconic Lobby—celebrated for its architecture and rich history of hosting international stars and historic cultural events—the evening will feature: “We’re taking over The Peninsula Manila’s lobby, upper lobby, conservatory and halls in a way you’ve never seen before. Tonight, she’s our leading lady. We’ve proven we can create large-scale, over-the-top events, but tonight, against this stunning backdrop, we hope our guests enjoy the smaller details—and, of course, the drama.”

• The Star-Studded Red Carpet: The evening kicked off with a highly anticipated arrivals experience, featuring avant-garde and runway-ready fashion statements from the Philippines’ top celebrities, style icons, and digital tastemakers.
• Curated Sounds & Live Acts: The venue’s atmosphere was elevated by a premier lineup of local and international musical talent. Guests experienced dynamic live sets and immersive pop-up performances from Marina Summers, Roll The Dice, DJ Uggo, DJ Omoloko, DJ Xi, DJ Zid, and DJ Xtina.
• Cinematic Mixology: Attendees enjoyed custom-crafted anniversary cocktails curated by luxury spirits partner Don Julio 1942, with each signature drink drawing inspiration from cult-classic movies and legendary cinematic eras.
