With the dark lord Sauron sensing an absolute victory within his reach, the Elves, Dwarves, and Númenóreans must unite to confront an overwhelming threat that puts the very survival of Middle-earth on the line. The highly anticipated new season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is officially set to premiere on November 11 on Prime Video.

CULVER CITY, CA — Prime Video has officially unveiled the thrilling trailer for the highly anticipated third season of its epic fantasy drama, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. “All of it has come to this,” warns Galadriel, as the narrative barrels toward the creation of the One Ring and Sauron solidifies his dark hold over Middle-earth.

The new footage showcases a global conflict, with the diverse factions of Middle-earth locked in a desperate struggle against Sauron’s advancing Orc legions. Clad in black armor, the Dark Lord’s terrifying Ring-servants, the Nazgnagôl, stalk the lands. Meanwhile, the Elves face immense strain as they hold the line against invading forces, and internal family rifts fracture the Dwarven kingdom of Khazad-dûm. On the island of Númenor, political instability pushes the kingdom toward a full-blown civil war, while in the eastern territories of Rhûn, Gandalf must summon the absolute peak of his magical capabilities to rally forces against the oncoming darkness.

The third season is scheduled to debut on November 11, 2026, launching with a massive four-episode premiere. The momentum will continue with the release of episodes 5 and 6 on November 18, leading up to the epic two-part season finale on November 25.

The War for Middle-earth

The narrative for Season 3 picks up five years after the tragic fall of Eregion, with Middle-earth fully engulfed in total warfare. Sauron’s armies have swept across the continent, conquering almost everything in their path. Only a handful of vulnerable strongholds now prevent the Dark Lord from achieving complete victory: the secluded halls of Khazad-dûm and the Elven sanctuaries of Lindon and Rivendell, which remain shielded by the power of their Three Rings.

However, from his newly erected fortress of Barad-dûr in Mordor, Sauron remains relentlessly focused on a singular obsession. He is toiling to forge a weapon capable of breaking the remaining free realms: the One Ring. To survive, the free peoples of Middle-earth—Men, Elves, Dwarves, and Wizards—must find a way to unite in a desperate race against time to halt Sauron’s march toward total domination.

Production and Lore

The third season continues under the leadership of showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Kate Hazell, Justin Doble, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. The production team also includes producer Matthew Penry-Davey, alongside co-producers Ally O’Leary Cantrell, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings the legendary tales of Middle-earth’s Second Age to the screen for the first time. Set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, this epic drama explores an era defined by the forging of great powers, the rise and fall of glorious nations, and the ultimate test of unlikely heroes. Following an expansive ensemble of both fresh and iconic characters, the series charts their battles against the re-emergence of evil across legendary locales, from the depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of Lindon and the stunning shores of Númenor.

All sixteen episodes of the first two seasons are available to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories in multiple languages. Watch Official Trailer HERE
