Nearly 200 storytellers from across the country submitted entries for the nationwide campaign, which highlights locally developed technologies through compelling short-form videos and photo essays.

A Platform for Science Storytelling and Technology Promotion

Entries were evaluated by DOST-TAPI and a distinguished panel of judges from the innovation and advertising industries. Organizers emphasized that all decisions were final and based on strict judging criteria.

The 2025 edition marked a strategic shift in the program’s direction—from science citizen journalism to science visual storytelling. By utilizing short-form video advertisements and photo essays, GAxD aims to make Filipino innovations more accessible and relatable to wider audiences.

Beyond recognition, the campaign also serves as a talent-scouting platform for individuals and groups who may qualify for DOST-TAPI’s programs supporting technology commercialization and promotion.

As DOST-TAPI approaches four decades of championing Filipino ingenuity, the Gawad Alunig x Dalumat campaign continues to amplify stories that bridge science, creativity, and community impact—proving that innovation thrives not only in laboratories, but also in the stories that bring it to life.
