For the first time in its 20-year history, the CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival expands its vibrant celebration to Capiz, marking a major milestone for the country’s largest multi-arts festival, organized by the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). Joining Tagum City and Iloilo City as regional partner venues, Roxas City, Capiz, now becomes part of a nationwide cultural movement that continues to bring Philippine arts closer to communities.

Adding to the excitement, the National Parks Development Committee collaborates with CCP Pasinaya for performances and a lively Pamilihan at Rizal Park Luneta, enriching the festival’s footprint in Metro Manila.

A Festival Across Metro Manila

For its NCR leg, CCP Pasinaya unfolds simultaneously at the Circuit Performing Arts Theater (CPAT) in Makati and the Metropolitan Theater (The Met) in Manila, alongside activities in Luneta. True to its inclusive spirit, the festival operates under its signature “pay-what-you-can, watch-all-you-can” format—inviting audiences to immerse themselves in a marathon of performances without barriers.

At Rizal Park Luneta, festival-goers can catch a dynamic lineup featuring the Philippine High School for the Arts’ Dulaang Sipat Lawin, Ang mga Manunubli ng Sinala, Samahang Nazareno Inc., Lahing Balangeña Performing Arts, and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Molino Performing Arts Group. The Pamilihan component also offers a platform for local vendors and entrepreneurs, transforming the space into a cultural marketplace.

At CPAT’s Activity Center, folk traditions take center stage with performances from the Muntinlupa Dance Company, Centro Escolar University Folk Dance Troupe, and the University of the East Silanganan Dance Troupe. Puppetry artistry comes alive with comedic duo Wanlu and Nicolo.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Theater becomes a powerhouse of artistic expression. Batangas State University’s Diwayanis Dance Theater, Temple Hill International School students, The Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company, Lipa Actors Company, and Kids Acts energize audiences on February 8. World-renowned choirs Philippine Madrigal Singers and Imusicapella elevate the musical experience.

The Met also hosts interactive and educational highlights: the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra offers an instrument experience, SPIT Manila introduces improvisation comedy, the International Ventriloquist Society of the Philippines showcases puppetry magic, Alice Reyes Dance Philippines traces the myth of movement, and Repertory Philippines presents a lecture on Shakespeare at the NCCA Met Theater.

Paglikha sa Kinabukasan: Across the Regions

With the theme “Paglikha sa Kinabukasan,” CCP Pasinaya inspires the next generation to deepen their appreciation of Philippine arts and culture as it travels to Tagum City, Iloilo City, and Roxas City, Capiz.

In Capiz, the celebration begins at Robinsons Roxas on February 7 with Filamer Christian University’s Dance Company and Chorale. They are joined by Tanque National High School Rondalla, CPC Sarayawan Dance Company, CapSU Main Dance Troupe, and Leyte Dance Theater.

At Capiz State University (CapSU), Mindanao State University’s Tambuli Cultural Dance Troupe and Hiphop Gen San share the stage with Artes Bailes Iloilo and Silliman University Dance Company. Musical brilliance shines through performances by Mandaue Children’s Choir, UM Chorale Davao, CPC Chorale, Cuartero National High School Taliamba Ensemble, Cuerdas De Panay Rondalla, and The Nightingales. Theatrical groups such as Sining Kambayoka Marawi, Kasing Sining Bohol, and Dagway Sigmahanon Inc. complete the regional showcase.

In Iloilo City, the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA), now in its third year as regional partner, hosts performances, workshops, and exhibitions. Dance companies like PCD School of Performing Arts, Bereber Sayaw Parkinson’s Disease, and SF School of Dance move audiences through expressive storytelling. Musical performances from the University of San Agustin Choir and Troubadours enrich the program, while theater groups from UP Visayas and the University of San Agustin bring life’s stories to the stage.

Tagum City’s Cultural Center pulses with energy on February 7 as Danza Filipina, Hiyas Mananayaw, LFNHS Folkloric Dance Troupe, Kadayaman Dance Guild, and Letran Dance Group perform. Sto. Tomas Kwerdas Rondalla, champion of the 2025 National Music Competitions for Young Artists Junior Rondalla Category, adds triumphant flair. UM Rondalla, League of Young Voices, Tagum City Children’s Choir, Panabo Dance and Theater Group, Tanghalan ng Tagum Performers, TCNHS Choir, and Conexus Harmonia Chorale further enrich the program.

Audiences also experience stirring performances from Kalinaw Mindanao, Kuntaw Mindanao, Drum Up, and the Tagum City Symphonic Orchestra. Pasalidahay sa Tagum caps off the festivities. On February 8, Robinsons Tagum hosts En Avant Dance Centre and Katribu Mindanao, alongside guest artists from across Mindanao.

From Open House to Cultural Movement

Since its inception in 2005, CCP Pasinaya has grown far beyond its original purpose of promoting upcoming CCP productions. It has evolved into a nationwide cultural network where artists, performers, and communities converge in a shared celebration of creativity.

Through its “pay-what-you-can, workshop-all-you-can, and watch-all-you-can” model, CCP Pasinaya democratizes access to the arts, inviting Filipinos to rediscover their creativity and cultural pride.

Pre-registration for Manila venues is available via CCP’s official social media platforms, while regional audiences may check their respective venue pages for details. Festival-goers are also encouraged to participate in Paligsahan, CCP Pasinaya’s newest interactive component.

As CCP Pasinaya continues to expand its reach, it stands as a testament to the enduring power of Philippine arts—shaping communities, inspiring generations, and creating the future through culture.
