UP Women’s Softball Secures Marigold and Kosmas Sponsorship

The University of the Philippines Women’s Varsity Softball Team extends its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sophia Lapus, Marketing Manager of Mama Sita’s Food Corporation, and Ms. Isabel Lapus, CEO of Kosmas Athletic Ventures, for their continued support of the team through the donation of two (2) KRYO Louisville Slugger composite softball bats. The equipment was formally turned over earlier today at the UP Diliman CHK Baseball Field.

The simple yet meaningful turnover ceremony was attended by Mr. Lapus, together with his daughters Sophia and Isabel, who personally handed over the new bats to the team. The donation comes at a crucial time as the UP Women’s Softball Team ramps up its training and preparations for the UAAP Season 88 Softball Competition, set to begin in early February 2026.

According to Assoc. Prof. Francis “Coach Kiko” B. Diaz, the new equipment will play a vital role in enhancing the team’s training sessions and overall competitive performance as they head into the upcoming season.

Mama Sita’s Food Corporation is one of the principal sponsors of the UP Women’s Varsity Softball Team for School Year 2025–2026 and UAAP Season 88, underscoring the company’s sustained commitment to collegiate sports and athlete development. With the support of Mama Sita’s, the team successfully defended its championship title at the 2025 Makassar Open International Softball Tournament held in Makassar, Indonesia, last October.

Sophia Lapus, who leads Mama Sita’s market development initiatives, works closely with her sister Isabel Lapus in advancing community-building and youth-focused programs across the Philippines. Through Mama Sita’s Food Corporation and Kosmas Athletic Ventures, the sisters actively support initiatives that empower young people through sports, education, and grassroots engagement—using athletics as a platform to foster leadership, confidence, and positive social impact among Filipino youth.
