A milestone moment for Original Pilipino Music unfolded on December 13 as rising Filipino band Isay was crowned the first-ever Jameson Distilled Sounds (JDS) Philippines winner during the grand finale of Jameson Distillery on Tour (JDOT) 2025 in Taguig City.

Jameson Distilled Sounds is a global music platform that champions creativity and emerging talent across countries such as Indonesia, India, Australia, Thailand, and Portugal. While most regions select a single artist to represent their country internationally, the Philippines made history as the first to stage a full-scale nationwide artist search, giving local musicians an unprecedented platform to compete, perform, and shine.
A Winning Moment Worth Celebrating
The grand prize winner, Isay, is composed of powerhouse vocalist Isay Olarte, guitarist Jhon Ramos, bassist Don Don Baculo, and drummer Angelo Galendez. Their victory earned them a remarkable prize package that sets the stage for a promising musical future:

- A record deal to kickstart their professional journey
- An endorsement contract with Jameson Irish Whiskey Philippines
- An all-expenses-paid trip to Ireland, the home of Jameson—the world’s No. 1 Irish Whiskey
- ₱1 million in cash
The Road to the Crown
From November 20 to December 13, JDOT transformed BGC’s 9th Avenue Activity Center into a lively hub for music lovers and whiskey enthusiasts alike. Over several weeks, 10 talented JDS finalists delivered electrifying performances that showcased the diversity, depth, and creativity of today’s OPM scene.
The finalists included Nin, Rachel, Renata’s Rain, Isay, Saint Cooper, Ezra, Jeremy, Angel, Lorenzo, and Cen, each bringing their own sound and story to the stage. Joining Isay on the podium were Cen as first runner-up and Angel as second runner-up—both earning praise for their individuality and stage presence.
Winners were determined through a combination of online fan voting and scores from a distinguished panel of judges composed of industry leaders and respected artists:
- Pio Dumayas, frontman of Lola Amour and Jameson Philippines endorser
- Bret Jackson, Editor-in-Chief of Billboard Philippines
- Kelley Mangahas, music executive and founding member of Kjwan and Dicta License
- Armi Millare, acclaimed singer-songwriter behind iconic OPM hits
Meet the Champions
Hailing from Oriental Mindoro, Isay captured hearts with their emotionally driven performances, compelling storytelling, and undeniable chemistry. Their authentic sound reflects years of shared experiences and grassroots beginnings—an embodiment of homegrown Filipino talent.
In a post-event interview, the band shared how music has been both their refuge and creative playground. After three years of performing in small venues, restaurants, and bars, joining Jameson Distilled Sounds became a transformative experience.
“We honestly came in with no expectations,” the band shared. “Making it to the final 10 already felt surreal. Jameson values authenticity the way music does—it’s about craft, joy, and connection. We’re grateful for the opportunity to show who we are and what we can do.”
Championing Filipino Creativity
The grand prize was awarded on stage by Tony Atayde, Head of Marketing for Pernod Ricard Philippines & Indonesia, who praised Isay’s win and the spirit of the competition.
“Music is one of Jameson’s strongest passion points worldwide—and if there’s one thing Filipinos know best, it’s singing competitions,” Atayde said. “Jameson Distilled Sounds goes beyond a contest. It’s a celebration of Filipino artistry and shared experiences within the community.”
Through initiatives like Jameson Distilled Sounds, the brand continues to support the growth of Filipino music by providing meaningful platforms for emerging artists to reach wider audiences and take their craft to the next level.
