FINGER ELEVEN (@finger_eleven), one of Canada’s most iconic and best-selling rock bands, are stepping into a powerful new chapter. Fresh from their reunion with long-time labelmates Creed on a massive U.S. tour last summer—rekindling the energy of the late ‘90s—the multi-platinum, Juno Award-winning group is back with their first new studio album in ten years, LAST NIGHT ON EARTH. The record drops November 7 via Better Noise Music, with pre-orders available now.

The band—Scott Anderson (vocals), James Black (lead guitar, backing vocals), Rick Jackett (rhythm guitar), Sean Anderson (bass), and Steve Molella (drums)—have just unleashed the album’s second single and video, the explosive “Blue Sky Mystery” featuring Filter’s Richard Patrick. “People were just smiling the whole time [on tour]—it was contagious,” shares guitarist Rick Jackett. “That energy carried right into the studio and fueled this album.”

The Making of “Blue Sky Mystery”

The track captures the band at their heaviest, with Scott Anderson describing its Black Sabbath-inspired chorus as “burrowing into the rabbit hole of obsession—the closer it is, the less you understand it.” James Black recalls its original title, “10 Ton Saber”, imagining a “Star Wars character wielding a bazooka-sized lightsaber.”

Guest collaborator Richard Patrick (Filter) adds, “Working with FINGER ELEVEN couldn’t have gone smoother. They’re pros, and it was a lot of fun. Both our bands are celebrating 30 years—it felt like the perfect time to finally join forces.”

Building LAST NIGHT ON EARTH

Fans got their first taste of the album with “Adrenaline”, a high-octane anthem that climbed into the Top 20 at U.S. Active Rock, hit #2 in Canada, and stayed in the Top 5 for more than four months. Its video has already racked up over 176k views on YouTube.

“Making this record felt like coming full circle,” says Jackett. “We wanted a big rock album again—something massive in sound and energy. Even the softer songs have a huge presence.”

Musically, the band blends their signature hard rock edge with melodic influences from Phil Collins and Genesis. The tracklist offers a range of emotions and sounds:

  • “Adrenaline” – a fierce anthem about resilience.
  • “Blue Sky Mystery” – a heavy-hitting rocker about obsession.
  • “The Mountain” – an epic ride through creativity’s highs and lows.
  • “Last Night On Earth” – a raw, acoustic closer about love and heartbreak.

A Legacy of Hits

Formed in Burlington, Ontario and now based in Toronto, FINGER ELEVEN have built one of Canada’s strongest rock legacies. Their self-titled debut went Gold in the U.S. and Platinum in Canada, powered by the smash ballad “One Thing.” Their 2007 record Them vs. You vs. Me featured “Paralyzer,” which topped charts worldwide, went 5x Platinum, and earned them a Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year.

Subsequent releases, including Life Turns Electric and Five Crooked Lines, solidified their reputation as one of the most dynamic live bands to emerge from the Great White North. In 2023, their Greatest Hits package delivered “Together Right,” which held #1 on Canadian radio for five straight weeks.

Now, with LAST NIGHT ON EARTH, FINGER ELEVEN are ready to begin their next era—louder, heavier, and bigger than ever.
