Calling all open-water swimmers: Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort and Madwave Philippines invite you to LUBI Swimfest 2025 on Sunday, 24 August 2025, 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM — a full-day island celebration of sport, sea, and sun.

This isn’t just a race — it’s an island experience. All that for ₱3,300 — great value for a day of sport and escape.

  • Race briefing & check-in: Arrive early to complete registration and attend the safety briefing (check the registration page for exact check-in times and race-day instructions).
  • Safety & support: The event is organized by experienced open-water event specialists — expect race marshals, safety boats/kayaks, and a medical team on standby (final safety details will be provided by organizers before race day).
  • Facilities: Changing areas, bag drop, and post-swim refreshment area will be arranged at the resort — see the official race info for confirmed logistics.

Who should join

LUBI Swimfest is ideal for swimmers who enjoy open-water challenges — from seasoned ocean swimmers wanting a scenic race to club swimmers seeking a vibrant race-cation. Novice open-water swimmers who meet minimum fitness and open-water experience requirements are welcome; review the event’s safety guidelines and consider training with a coach if you’re new to the sea.

Helpful tips & suggested packing list

  • Competition swimsuit or wetsuit (if permitted), goggles, swim cap (bring a spare), anti-chafe balm.
  • Towel, sun shirt/rash guard, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, flip-flops.
  • Reusable water bottle and any personal nutrition (gels/snacks).
  • Light dry clothes and footwear for post-swim brunch and island touring.
  • Identification, printed or digital confirmation of registration, and emergency contact information.

Training pointers (6–8 weeks out)

  • Practice sighting and open-water group swims to get comfortable with navigation and drafting.
  • Include sets that simulate race distance plus warm-up/cool-down (e.g., interval work + steady longer swims).
  • Work on breathing on both sides, bilateral sighting, and short sprints to position yourself during starts.
  • Build a taper plan so you arrive rested on race day.
