The battlefield is calling once again. EA and DICE have officially kicked off the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, giving players around the world a taste of the franchise’s next big leap in scale, immersion, and tactical warfare. With two weekends of open play, new maps, fresh class changes, and a revamped movement system, this beta isn’t just a sneak peek—it’s the series’ biggest public test to date.

Watch the trailer here:

Beta Schedule & Access

The Open Beta runs over two weekends in August 2025:

  • Early Access: August 7–8
Available for Battlefield Labs members, players with early access codes, and those who earned rewards through Twitch Drops.
  • Weekend 1: August 9–10 — Open to all players.
  • Weekend 2: August 14–17 — Open to all players.

Preload began on August 4 across PC (Steam, EA App, Epic), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Note: PC players must have Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 enabled for anti-cheat compliance.

Maps & Modes

Battlefield 6’s Open Beta serves up an evolving rotation of maps and modes across the two weekends.

Weekend 1:

  • Maps: Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, Iberian Offensive
  • Modes: Conquest, Closed Weapon Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, King of the Hill

Weekend 2:

  • Maps: Empire State joins the rotation
  • Modes Added: Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Class Changes & Gameplay Updates

Battlefield 6 redefines squad roles with more distinctive class perks and tools:

  • Assault now carries the Deploy Beacon gadget (previously exclusive to Recon), encouraging frontline flanking strategies.
  • Recon shifts toward tactical oversight with a Spec Ops path and UAV-summoning ability.
  • Engineer and Support maintain vehicle and supply specializations but benefit from streamlined gadget access.

Weapon systems now include Closed Weapon playlists for balanced loadouts, and class-specific signature weapons offer unique benefits. The new Kinesthetic Combat system makes movement more fluid, enabling cover leaning, soldier dragging, and faster traversal. Tactical Destruction allows more reactive, destructible environments—opening up new strategies mid-match.

Rewards for Participation

Players who join the Open Beta can earn exclusive in-game cosmetics for the full release, including weapon skins, charms, vehicle liveries, and player card backgrounds. Progression in the beta will not carry over, but these cosmetic rewards will.

Looking Ahead to Launch

The feedback from these two beta weekends will directly influence last-minute balance changes before Battlefield 6’s official launch on October 10, 2025.
If the beta is any indication, the full release promises large-scale chaos, intricate tactical play, and the return of the franchise’s signature unpredictability.
