Western Union has announced the appointment of Ricardo Alair as its new Director for the Philippines, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and Palau, as part of its accelerated growth strategy to expand access to financial services across key markets in the region.

Bringing over two decades of experience in financial services, telecommunications, and strategic business leadership, Alair has earned a reputation for delivering innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

He spent 14 years at Globe Telecom, including eight years with GCASH under its Mobile Financial Services unit—playing a key role in developing business operations and corporate planning that helped shape the digital finance landscape in the Philippines.

Most recently, Alair served as Deputy General Manager at Lulu Money Philippines, where he successfully led the launch of the company’s e-wallet business—spearheading startup operations, product development, and full-scale market deployment.
